The driver charged with striking and killing hockey star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother in Salem County lost a bid last month to bar his statements to police from his trial.

Now, attorneys for Sean M. Higgins want to appeal that decision to a higher court.

Higgins, 45, of Pilesgrove, is accused of being intoxicated when he struck NHL player Johnny Gaudreau, 31, and his brother, Matthew R. Gaudreau, 29, as they bicycled on a rural road in Salem County on Aug. 29, 2024.

Yevgeniya Khaimova had the keys to the upscale office. But she wasn’t supposed to be there, not on Thanksgiving 2024, and certainly not for a brazen raid.

Three days earlier, Khaimova had staked out a series of high-end vehicles — including a Mercedes, a BMW and her own Cadillac Escalade — tucked out of sight in the Fort Lee office building’s garage. The pricey vehicles were once supposed to be cash cows.

Victims say they’re in financial ruin. They are begging for justice.
