Sarah Javed has made history as Sindh’s first Christian Deputy Commissioner, a landmark move for inclusivity in Pakistan’s civil service. Appointed as DC Sanghar, she replaces Shehryar Gul, according to an official notification issued by the Sindh government.
A 2014 CSS qualifier and officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, Sarah has held various key roles, including Assistant Commissioner in Saddar, SITE area, and Hyderabad. She also served as ADC-I in Tharparkar and earned national recognition for her efforts during the Covid-19 crisis.
Her appointment reflects Sindh’s growing focus on inclusive hiring within the bureaucracy, highlighting progress in representation for minority communities in leadership roles.
