Hi everyone - I'm on the board of the Powerhouse Arts District and we're conducting some market research regarding Club Transmission in 150 Bay Street... If you had a chance to change Club Transmission into some other type of entertainment venue, what would you like to see there? Keep in mind low budget and specific to entertainment (not a retail shop).
Little background: Club Transmission has been very disruptive to the residents in 150 Bay and the rest of the neighborhood--loud bass/music until 3am, drunk + disorderly patrons, vandalism, drinking/smoking marijuana on the streets, public urination--all in a VERY residential building + neighborhood. PADNA has been working with the Club, Landlord and City to resolve this. We're going to present top ideas to the Club's owner. He understands the issues that his venue has brought to the neighborhood and is trying to be a better neighbor. Thanks for your time and thoughts!
Thank you to all the residents of NJ that stood with us to voice clear opposition to anything that disrupts or destroys our valuable open space. This was a good outcome for Liberty State Park.
We are appreciative to the Friends of Liberty State Park for always being a leader here and we are thankful to the applicant for his willingness to be a good neighbor and his goal of being a productive asset to the region.
Sign the petition: We have taken on the fight of protecting open space in New Jersey, join us.
Let’s Explore: The Powerhouse Arts District The Powerhouse Arts District (or “PAD”) is one of the smallest neighborhoods in Jersey City, but it packs a helluva punch. Primarily comprised of manufacturing buildings erected in the 1800s, turned into artist live/work spaces in the later 1990s and early…

Behold, A Mythical Pedestrian Bridge Connecting NYC To Jersey City
If Jersey City is "the sixth borough" now, just think what will happen if the dream of a footbridge that connects to lower Manhattan is actually realized.

After Escaping Demolition, the Butler Bros Building is Reborn - Jersey Digs
Last week we toured the old Butler Brothers, and current Modera Lofts building currently under renovation in the Powerhouse Arts District of Jersey City.
The state approved today our request for elimination of the JCIA. This will be our 2nd autonomous agency eliminated per campaign promise and this will result in millions of savings for residents and increased accountability for residents.
The reductions will come at management level and elimination of redundant services we have in the city. Most of the workers in the Jcia doing the day to day jobs that are crucial (and their responsibilities) will move to the city. Of course we will keep 2nd chance programs.
This is a positive step and will improve performance
COME TO PLANNING BOARD MEETING TUESDAY NIGHT
September 1 at 5:30pm at City Hall
Please come to the Planning Board Meeting this Tuesday night to voice your concern about the Toll Brothers project (Phase 2) between Provost, Warren, Bay and Morgan.
When the Toll Bros plan was initially approved by the City, they had planned for a Provost Square Plaza that spanned from Bay to Morgan, with retail on the entire Provost side of the street. Their new revised plan takes away 30-40% of the Plaza to turn it into an entrance to their building (similar to 110 First Street--The One's entrance), as well as reducing the amount of retail space.
This is wrong. Toll Brothers is going back on their original giveback to our community. They're diminishing the neighborhood value and the purpose of the Plaza. We need to make sure our neighbors are at the meeting to voice our concern and let the City know that we care about the plans. Please make it if you can.
