NOTICE: DANGEROUS CONDITIONS / ROAD CLOSURE

Illinois Highway 100 between Hardin, IL and Kampsville, IL is currently CLOSED due to flash-flooding.

Intersections at McCauley Rd., Hamburg-Michael Rd., and Churchman Hollow are currently flooded out with large debris in the road.

The following roadways are reported to be flooded:

• North Hamburg-Michael Rd.
• Gresham Hollow Rd.
• Irish Hollow Rd.
• Degerlia Hollow Rd.
• Poor Farm Hollow Rd.

Crews from IDOT are currently out attempting to clear the roadway.

Please use alternate routes, or stay in place.

Please use caution if you have to use the roadways, as the flash-flooding is supposed to continue through the night.

Update: The Hardin Fire Department and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office have already conducted several treacherous water rescues of individuals trapped in flooded vehicles in the area of Michael.

Please avoid this area.

Jerseyville: Main Break & BWO

This is an urgent notification from Illinois American Water. Our crews are making emergency repairs due to a Main Break beginning at 8:45am on Thursday July 10, 2025 in Jerseyville.

You reside in the affected area and may experience a service interruption or low water pressure. Repairs are expected to take approximately 8 HOURS to complete At this time you are under a Boil Water Order.

We will notify you when this Boil Water Order is lifted. Any water to be used for drinking or cooking should be brought to a rolling boil for 5 minutes. Water is OK for bathing, laundry, and other common uses. You will be notified when the boil order has been lifted.

If you are a landlord and water service is in your name, please inform your tenants so they are aware of this impact to their water service. In keeping with American Water’s focus on safety for both customers and employees, please do not approach our crews while they work.

Juwan A. Wallace, a 32-year-old from Godfrey, was charged on March 31, 2025, with Attempted First Degree Murder and Home Invasion, both Class X felonies. The incident allegedly occurred on March 28, 2025, when Wallace is accused of unlawfully entering the victim's residence.
