Not only did Matt record six songs in four hours, he did it while playing an acoustic guitar and singing into a mic two feet away from Maureen's drum kit, with my bass blaring in his ears, without any monitors, and with a hot, unforgiving, 16-track tape machine whirring in the background.

Continuing the slow roll-out of the Daisy Dog Press catalog with Lucian Morgan's brilliant novel, Dog Christ.

I first met Lucian Morgan in Seattle at the 2011 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards ceremony. Lucian and I had been been selected as finalists in the contest and Amazon had flown us into town for the big announcement. The first thing Lucian said to me was, "Do these people have any idea what they're doing to us?" They did not.

He and I have been friends ever since.

Dog Christ is a mighty little novel, full of bizarre characters and manipulative creeps, and narrated by a silent man confined to a wheelchair.
