Town of James Island Flag Dedication Program

Please join the Town of James Island and Lockridge Builders as they cut the ribbon and dedicate a brand new Veterans Memorial at the entrance to James Island. This program will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., 717 Folly Road (next to Carolina One Real Estate) parking right behind the new flagpoles in the overflow lot.

Please take note of this important notice regarding work that will soon begin on Central Park Road.

Central Park Road Closure on June 9, 2025: Charleston County Central Park Road Improvements Project Update

The complete road closure of Central Park Road between the Riverland Drive intersection and Fleming Road intersection closure will begin on Monday, June 9, 2025 and is expected to last through November, 2025. The Fleming Road intersection will remain operational during the closure and access will be provided by the contractor to residents within the closure limits throughout construction. Message boards and a signed detour plan will be in place prior to the closure.

One more news story regarding the memorialization of the Intersection of Kentwood Circle and Secessionville Road on behalf of Gabriel Seagraves. There has been a tremendous show of public support for this effort throughout the community.

The James Island Town Council approved a resolution and application Thursday to memorialize 15-year-old Gabriel Seagraves.
