Joplin Missouri police say history was made last night when 87-year-old 'Parking Lot Hostess' trainee Loretta Pickens became the oldest person ever arrested in Jasper County.

Officers responded to reports of “unusual activity” at the Petro truck stop, only to find Loretta allegedly offering her “company” to long-haul drivers in exchange for cash, Marlboro Reds, and scratch-off lottery tickets.

“She told us she wasn’t selling anything they were ‘donations for comfort sessions,’” said one bewildered officer. Pickens, who wore orthopedic shoes and carried a crocheted purse, reportedly told police she “wasn’t dead yet” and that truckers “love a lady with experience.”

Loretta was taken into custody peacefully after asking officers to help her find her dentures, which had fallen into her purse. Her arraignment is set for Monday, assuming she remembers where the courthouse is.
