I wrote about the Jean Bonnet Tavern on my Spectral Chronicles Substack a while back—and this past week, I finally got to visit in person!
Just had dinner at the haunted Jean Bonnet Tavern in Bedford, PA—and wow, what an experience. The food was incredible (seriously, go hungry), but the real treat was chatting with the owner and staff about the ghost stories tied to this historic place.
One waitress told me about a pint glass that tipped over in slow motion, and the beer inside poured out just as slowly—then suddenly dumped everywhere like something out of a horror movie. 😳
The owner had even more chilling stories, including a ghost sighting of just a bottom torso (yep), a ladle that flew across the kitchen by itself, and a block of ice that literally floated through the air in front of staff. They even jokingly call the spirit "Casper," but the vibe says it's no joke.
Already planning my next trip back. If you're into history, great food, and a side of the supernatural... add this place to your list. 👻🍽️
