Best April Fools coming from Northeast Slopes, Inc.!
"DOZENS OF SKIERS STRANDED ON CORINTH T-BAR"
Last Wednesday about two dozen skiers and snowboarders were stranded on Northeast Slopes's summit reaching T-bar. According to an anonymous ski area spokesperson the lift suddenly stopped just after noontime last Wednesday, upon investigation it was discovered an eagle and a beaver had chewed into the lifts safety gate wiring on the top terminal removing some of the wire for nesting material.
While repairs were being made, a low angle rescue personnel assisted all the skiers and riders from their perch upon the T-bar seats. Although it is a surface lift and your feet never actually leave the ground precautions were taken to ensure that everyone's safety was first priority and lifts were running again within ten minutes. When asked if this has happened before the anonymous spokesperson did recall a similar instance over ten years ago when the Big Rope Tow ran out of gas and skiers were simply asked to let go of the rope, step to the left and ski down.
Happy All Fool's Day,
Northeast Slopes
Northeast Slopes thanks everyone for a wonderful ski season! We can't wait to see you next year!!
