Missouri cannabis limits can get confusing fast β especially when possession limits, high-dose certifications, cultivation, and MMEs all overlap. πΏ
Hereβs the simple breakdown:
A standard Missouri medical patient may generally purchase up to 6 oz in 30 days and possess up to 12 oz.
High-dose patients need to do the math:
30-day certified amount Γ 2 = possession limit
Examples:
16 oz certified amount = 32 oz possession limit
36 oz certified amount = 72 oz possession limit
Adult-use consumers are different. Consumers may purchase up to 3 oz in a single transaction and possess up to 3 oz.
Cultivation adds another layer.
A standard patient who is not cultivating may generally possess up to a 60-day supply. But an approved patient cultivator may possess up to a 90-day supply of dried, unprocessed ma*****na or its equivalent.
That means patient cultivation can allow a third month supply at home, but anything above the patientβs 60-day supply must remain in a Department-approved enclosed, locked facility.
Consumer cultivation is different. Adult-use consumer cultivators must keep any cultivated ma*****na above the allowed 3 oz possession limit at their residence in a Department-approved enclosed, locked facility.
MMEs matter too.
1 MME =
3.5g flower = 1g concentrate = 100mg THC infused product
A standard patient with a 6-ounce allotment may purchase up to 48 MMEs within a rolling 30-day timeframe.
The main takeaway: do not guess. Know your category, know your certified amount, understand where cultivation changes the rules, and always verify current Missouri rules.
