Missouri Southern KGCS - TV KGCS is the television station at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin. Thousands of students have gone through the program in the past 37 years.

The station that started as a cable-access channel in Joplin in 1984 and has grown to a digital broadcast station serving more than 167,000 households in the region. Throughout the years, our mission has remained the same – providing valuable hands-on opportunities for Southern broadcast students and serving as an outreach with programming for the Joplin region.

⚾️ Calling all Cardinals fans in Joplin! ⚾️

The Cardinals Caravan is rolling into town on January 17th, and you don’t want to miss it! Whether you’re a lifelong fan or raising a future MVP, there is something for everyone:

✨ FOR THE KIDS: Fredbird is BACK! Kids 15 & under get a guaranteed autograph ticket and a free rally towel from Missouri Farm Bureau.

These recent equipment upgrades following our tower move ensure a more reliable viewing experience for our neighbors in the Carthage and Monett area. KGCS has served Missouri Southern State University and the Joplin community since 1984. The station that started as a cable-access channel in Joplin in 1984 has grown to a digital broadcast station serving more than 167,000 households in the region. Throughout the years, our mission has remained the same – providing valuable hands-on opportunities for Southern broadcast students and serving as an outreach with programming for the Joplin region.
