Every graduation season gives us a chance to look at the faces of tomorrow — and this year, the Class of 2026 gave us plenty to be proud of.

These are the young people who have worked, grown, stumbled, learned, laughed, and pushed their way across the finish line. They are artists, athletes, future leaders, future business owners, future parents, future problem-solvers, and, most importantly, they are the next chapter of our community.

To every graduate in the Class of 2026: congratulations. This moment belongs to you, your families, your teachers, and everyone who helped you get here.

And now, we’re excited to announce the winner of our Faces of Tomorrow graduation photo contest.

Congratulations to Zoey Lamm!

Zoey wins dinner for herself and three friends at Tony’s.

Zoey, enjoy the celebration. To the entire Class of 2026, congratulations, and have a great summer!

The Juneau Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Alaska is happening right now, bringing together athletes, law enforcement officers and community members in support of an incredible cause.

This annual 5K helps raise money for local Special Olympics athletes and sports programs, with every dollar raised staying right here in the Juneau community. It’s more than a run, it’s a powerful show of support, inclusion and community spirit.

If you’d like to support the athletes and the mission of Special Olympics Alaska, donations can still be made online: https://p2p.onecause.com/2025letrak/event/juneau

To the moms who show up every day, even when they are tired. To the grandmothers, stepmoms, foster moms, aunties, sisters and friends who help raise, guide and protect.
To the women who love with patience, carry more than most people see, and somehow still find a way to give.

Thank you.

Mother’s Day is not just about perfect cards or perfect families. It is about recognizing the people who helped shape us, comfort us, challenge us and believe in us.

Today, we celebrate them with gratitude, honesty and love. Happy Mother’s Day.

Problem Corner is coming back live soon.

As we make the move into our new studios at Mendenhall Mall, we’re taking a little time to get the new live setup dialed in the right way. Over the next week or so, we’ll be airing encore archived editions of Problem Corner while we finish the transition and prepare to launch from our new home.

Problem Corner has been part of Juneau’s daily conversation for generations. It’s where community issues, local voices, public questions, straight talk, and yes, the occasional item for sale, have always had a place on KINY.

And we don’t want you to miss the chance to share something you might be trying to sell. That has always been part of the charm of Problem Corner. So while we’re getting the new studio ready, feel free to list your items here in the comments, and we’ll help share them with our Facebook audience.

We’re excited to bring this tradition with us into the new Juneau Media Center at Mendenhall Mall, a new space built for the next chapter of local radio in Southeast Alaska.

Thank you for your patience during the move. Live Problem Corner will be back soon, and we can’t wait to open the microphones again.

After many years broadcasting from Channel Drive, the Juneau Media Center is preparing for an exciting new chapter at Mendenhall Mall.

This move is more than a change of address. It is a renewed commitment to the community we serve every day.

For generations, our stations have been part of Juneau’s daily life, sharing local news, weather, school updates, public safety information, community events, music, conversations and the stories that connect us. That responsibility matters to us.

Our new broadcast home at Mendenhall Mall has allowed us to modernize our studios, improve our technology, and create a more accessible, visible and connected media center for Juneau.

We are proud of our history, but we are even more focused on what comes next: stronger local coverage, better facilities, more community partnerships, and a continued commitment to being here when Juneau needs us.

Thank you for listening, supporting and believing in local media.

We’re moving the radio stations from Channel Drive to our new studios at Mendenhall Mall in May and in preparation for the move, we found something we did not expect:

A safe.

No key.
No combination.
No idea what’s inside.

We checked with the previous owners, and they told us it was never opened during their 17 years at the station.

So now the mystery begins.

A local locksmith is coming soon to open it, and we’ll find out what’s been hiding inside all these years.

Old radio prizes? Lost station secrets? Actual treasure? A very disappointing pile of paperwork?

Take your best guess in the comments. We’ll share the best guesses on air and broadcast the opening of the safe on Facebook live.

What do YOU think is inside the safe?
