Misfit Preachers Plagiarizing Jesus, one podcast at a time.

When I come home a jerk and she meets me with kindness, I don’t double down—I break. That’s what grace does. It doesn’t excuse the mess. It disarms it. “God is kind, but he’s not soft.” (Romans 2:4, The Message)

I was obsessed with rules—until someone asked if I could love God and my neighbor 24/7, even my enemies. I said, “I can’t.” He said, “Are you ready for Jesus yet?” You gotta despair of you before you can fall into grace.

They found it in a dusty basement — 200 proof grace. No ice. No mixers. No good behavior required. God saves us single-handedly, or He doesn’t save at all. That’s the gospel, straight up.

I grew up in church, but nobody told me the wild truth: Jesus plus nothing equals everything. When it finally clicked, I felt free—and furious. We’ve been robbed of the one thing that sets us free: grace.

If the message points inside you, you’ll always doubt. If it points outside you—to Jesus—you’ll finally rest. It’s gravity. You can’t escape it. Trust the gift, not your grip.

Grace without conditions isn’t just biblical—it’s the whole point. And the pushback? Also biblical. Paul spent his whole ministry fighting to keep grace free and clear. No footnotes. No fine print. Just Jesus. Start to finish. [ Full Episode: https://youtu.be/0t_IV8eJLP0?si=CzvdEfqn5W7KGZ6c ]

If your faith feels like a self-improvement project, grace will feel like the enemy. But the gospel isn’t “do more.” It’s “it is finished.” God already gave Himself for you—past, present, future. You’re not climbing a ladder. You’re resting in love. [ Full Episode: https://youtu.be/0t_IV8eJLP0?si=CzvdEfqn5W7KGZ6c ]

When you fall, you don’t fall out of grace—you fall into it. Grace doesn’t come with disclaimers or footnotes. It’s not fair, and that’s the whole point. If that makes you squirm, good. You’re finally hearing it right. [ Full Episode: https://youtu.be/0t_IV8eJLP0?si=CzvdEfqn5W7KGZ6c ]

We don’t think grace is unbiblical—we’re just allergic to it. Deep down, we’d rather earn God’s favor than admit we need His charity. Grace exposes our poverty, levels our pride, and gives us what we didn’t work for. That’s why we resist it. It’s not untrue—it’s just undignified.

RECORDED LIVE @ FALLEN + FREE 2025 • For most of us our deepest problem with GRACE is not that we are TOO DAMNABLY BAD to need Grace but rather that we are TOO DAMNABLY good. Even non-religious people can see the self-destructive nature of their own BAD DEEDS, but it takes an encounter with the REAL LAW of God to despair of our GOOD DEEDS too! Only Jesus frees us from BOTH!

Will the REAL God of Wrath please stand up? Most people see the Temple sacrifices, the smoke, the wars and violence of mankind in the Hebrew Scriptures called "The Old Testament" HOWEVER the REAL God of Wrath wasn't seen at Mount Sinai, He was seen on the mount outside of Jerusalem 2000 years ago on a mount called "Calvary." When Jesus says, "Why have YOU forsaken me?" He cries the cry that every man, woman and child who has ever lived SHOULD HAVE CRIED! He was FORSAKEN in our place.

The symbol of faith for people who follow Jesus is not a ladder; it's a cross. Everything Jesus did was 'in our place' as our substitute, not as our example. We don't climb into God's good graces by our own moral performance. We are shown God's grace because of Jesus' performance on our behalf. He got what we deserve and we get what he deserved. You can't make this stuff up. Amazing grace never stops being amazing when you know what you actually deserve.
