A mile-long drive-thru of Christmas cheer is opening up for the season in Marshall.

Under the direction of the Calhoun County Agricultural and Industrial Society, a non-profit organization, Merry Mile is a route comprised of lights, displays, activities and musical scenes.

It will be open every Thursday through Sunday from 6-9 p.m., according to organizers.

Three schools in the Ionia Public School District are closed Thursday after a beloved educator was found dead on campus.

In a letter sent to parents at 5 a.m., Ionia Department of Public Safety stated the educator was discovered dead at school late Wednesday night.

Art Hop will begin with the story hour at 5:30 p.m. at the Anna Whitten Hall building followed by two free concerts at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum at 6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. Seating for the concert is first-come-first-serve.

To resurface roads, improve intersections and address overall safety in urban areas of rural counties, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) awarded 11 road agencies grants from the Transportation Economic Development Fund (TEDF) totaling $3.9 million, according to MDOT officials.

Boudot's attorneys argue that the tragedy was preventable and claim Walmart's negligence was evident during the 33 minutes before the first stabbing.
