October is National Bullying Prevention Month & Justice Against Bullying @ School (JABS), the anti-bullying initiative powered by HOPE, together with Community Partners invite YOUTH & Community to the 5th Annual YOUTH focused, 3-day Retreat for Resilient Justice (R4RJ25). The Retreat-"Empowering Youth Impacted by Social Justice Inequities", will be held October 10-12th and is free for youth and open to the public. *FREE Transportation Provided.
The Retreat is intentionally targeted to support youth, their families, and the community impacted by bullying, cyberbullying, and or gun/group violence.
The overarching goal is to:
Unplug from Distractions & Plug into You.
Heal Trauma.
Engage and Empower YOUTH/Families/Community directly impacted by bullying/cyberbullying, and gun violence.
Amplify voices and Advocate for social justice issues they are passionate about.
We are bringing culturally, competent youth experts to inform and direct safe easy to understand, youth-friendly, interactive approaches to heal & deal with the intersection of race and social justice, processing trauma and grief, and tools of resiliency for youth, their families, and the Kalamazoo community. This year we are using the Arts to magnify and interpret youth's feelings around the current Social Justice landscape and how their life experiences have been impacted by it.
Organizations wishing to support or attend R4RJ can request a Sponsorship Invitation Packet by contacting [email protected]. A Table Vendor opportunity is available Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, at the Embrace the Call Resource Brunch (ETCRB). The ETCRB is a Resource Fair where your organization/business can table and provide Out of School Time opportunities, the services you provide, and youth activists/advocacy available within your organization.
