Business question/observation:
Had a non-payment issue, so I called a guy’s business partner to get some answers.
The situation gets handled politely but tensely, I get paid through my digital invoicing system that I’ve been on boarding new clients to, and this guy throws this at me:
“You need to disclose if your invoice terms are under net30”
As far as I know, net30 is an anachronism for when snail mail and paper checks had to go to a little old lady’s desk for a stamp before they could be paid.
I perform a service under a scope of work, I contract digital deliverables for a fee, and I expect payment due upon receipt of deliverables and/or services rendered.
If you go to Meijer and want to buy an apple, can you tell the cashier you will send a check in 30 days? There isn’t even a cashier anymore!
Net30 is some dinosaur policy. Am I wrong?
