I’m out at the annual Piano Technician’s Guild convention in Reno, Nevada this week. We just got to hear this lovely young lady play some pieces by Alberto Ginastera, Mozart, and Liszt.

Samantha Wuo is just 17 years old, has won 12 piano competitions already, and will be attending Eastman School of Music this fall on a full scholarship.

It was wonderful to hear her express her appreciation for all of us piano technicians that help make it possible for artists like her to display their craft.

I got to work on this beautiful old grand piano recently - built in 1927. It needed some serious work! The tuning pins were so loose it could not hold a tune, but I was able to do a special treatment of the pinblock to fix the issue.

Shaped and voiced hammers, cleaned out the entire piano, pitch raise and tuning.

A real transformation!

Welcome to Resonant Piano!

Although I have been a professional piano technician for 24 years, I have just relocated to the beautiful Flathead Valley in Montana. I can take excellent care of your piano, making it sound and feel better than ever!

My background:
•My degree is in Piano Performance from Colorado Christian University and I have worked as a professional musician in a jazz/funk band and produced music for clients in my own recording studio.

•I have worked as a Piano Technician since 1999 and was the Head Technician at Liberty University, working on hundreds of concert instruments and war-torn practice room pianos.

•I am a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technician's Guild and have served as my chapter's President and the Chair of the College And University Technician's Committee at the national level.

•I have been trained at the Steinway Piano Factory in New York City in the areas of Action Regulation, Voicing, Dampers, and Finish Repair.
