It’s all about taxes. When people buy seed, fertilizer, lime, equipment, and food plot supplies, the state collects sales tax every step of the way. But when someone buys a bag of corn from a farmer’s roadside stand with cash, that’s tax revenue the state doesn’t collect.

In my opinion, that’s the real reason baiting was made illegal. It’s ALL ABOUT TAXES.

For years, we were told it was about CWD. Now they turn around and do this. To me, that’s a slap in the face to the people of Michigan. If CWD was truly the reason all along, this decision doesn’t add up. It raises serious questions about the priorities behind these regulations, and from my perspective, it reflects incompetence and misplaced priorities within the Michigan DNR.
