WAIMEA - A brush fire ignited around 2:30 p.m. near Pāʻulaʻula (Russian Fort) Saturday as Kauai Police Department and the Kauai Fire Department quickly responded. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but fire crews and KPD closed public access to Pāʻulaʻula shortly after responding as crews accessed adjacent land owned by the Robinson family as the fire spread there.
