Calumet City Woman Dead Officer injured after police involved shooting at 159th and Central Ave.

On April 3, 2022, at 10:54 a.m., the Oak Forest Police Department responded to the 6000 block of 159th Street for a possible motorist needing assistance. While on the scene, Oak Forest police officers determined that the driver, 21-year-old Ketura Wilson of the 300 block of Yates Ave., Calumet City, Illinois, was armed with a firearm.
Preliminary information indicates that Oak Forest police officers followed Wilson east on 159th Street. Wilson entered the Food4Less grocery store at 5556 W. 159th Street where she exchanged gunfire with Oak Forest police officers. An Oak Forest police officer and Wilson were struck by the gunfire. Both individuals were transported to area hospitals. The Oak Forest police officer is in serious but stable condition. Wilson succumbed to her wounds.
This incident is being investigated by the Illinois Public Integrity Task Force and the Oak Forest Police Department. For more information, contact the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigations.

Illinois Environmental Protection Agency‘s personnel attempt to enter the Jaffe drugstore located in the 200 block of E. Court St. in Kankakee and are met by Barry Jaffe and longtime attorney Tony Brasel. In one photo a document is shared between the EPA staff and Brasel.
