In the Midsummer 2025 issue of Joan Jedell’s tony Hampton Sheet magazine, contributing editor George Gurley met with Neil Sedaka for what would be one of Neil’s last major interviews (link in bio). Sedaka told the magazine that he thought it was “wild” that his songs would still be listened to one hundred years from now, musing, “Everyone wants some form of immortality... The other night I was falling asleep, and I never realized this; I said [to myself] “Neil, your name is known in every country in the world.” I said, “Holy sh*t.”

Rest well my friend! 🙏🙏💕❤️

BIG APPLE BILLIONAIRE, John Catsimatidis—can add another moniker to his already impressive pedigree: ACTOR in an Oscar-buzz film. The WABC Radio and Gristedes mogul hosted a screening at the AMC Kips Bay theatre to give audiences a sneak peek of the latest Timothée Chalamet-helmed film, “Marty Supreme.” The bipartisan audience included Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul and GOP gubernatorial hopeful Bruce Blakeman. It was the first time they were in the same place at the same time since Blakeman’s announcement to run.
Mayor Eric Adams was also supposed to be in attendance to proclaim December 23 Catsimatidis Day in NYC and parts of Long Island—but he didn’t get to the screening on time. At 77, it looks like CATS has been bitten by the acting bug after his stalwart performance in the flick. We hear he liked it so much that he’s thinking of buying a movie studio Out East. Hampton Sheet already has the perfect script to pitch to him about his own life—the story of a young boy, coming to America and achieving the American dream! What do ya think, Cats?
Only in America, only in America!

Thanks to the incredible Richard Johnson and the New York Daily News for the mention in today’s New York Daily News.

Our very own Hampton Sheet publisher and NYC socialite, Joan Jedell .jedell , told us that she’s pretty much seen it all when it comes to groupies, “Through the early Studio 54 days, there were “Band-Aids”—muses of rock’n’roll musicians like the one famously portrayed by Kate Hudson in Cameron Crowe’s 2000 iconic film Almost Famous. In the 80s, I saw the “heavy metal” variety—those with their ridiculously teased hairstyles who followed groups like Mötley Crüe for “backstage” access if you know what I mean. Of course, leave it to the world’s third richest man, Jeff Bezos to unintentionally herald in a new age of decidedly less glamorous “groupies” through his NFL broadcasting investment—a bunch of middle-aged men who follow Amazon’s Thursday Night football traveling show from stadium to stadium across the country in hopes of getting a glimpse of TNF Football Analyst Ryan Fitzpatrick’s Samson-esque long mane of chest hair.” to our sports contributor, Bobby Love , Amazon Prime will broadcast its first-ever Christmas Day game from , featuring the Broncos and the now-eliminated (and Patrick Mahomes-less) Kansas City Chiefs

And remember—when Richard Johnson writes, people in the know listen.

In a 2013 interview, Robert Redford told Hampton Sheet publisher Joan Jedell that “the constant reference to me being the way I looked, made me crazy, like I was being put into a cage.” Even though he didn’t like hearing this, boy was he a beautiful man—inside and out. He starred in countless classics and founded the Sundance Institute. Not only did this man—with his youthful charm and curiosity— leave us with a great film legacy, but he also shared his secret to a life well-lived: “you have two choices; you can be led by your fears or you can overcome them.” RIP Robert Redford - 1936-2025.
