Do I think she recognizes the DV now? 💯 but it’s the catch 22. I believe, the majority of the time it’s after there’s been distance, patterns recognition and reflection. DV keeps women stuck because they can’t see through the trees to see the forest. And because as a society, we won’t name it. And before you ask why didn’t she just leave—well you heard the journal entry on the guilt she felt for spending money and not making it. Holding onto guilt also keeps you feeling responsible. How many of you can say you were doing it all while also feeling guilty for not doing enough and then were also being cheated on?
