Mateo 19:23-26
Entonces Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: De cierto os digo, que difícilmente entrará un rico en el reino de los cielos. Otra vez os digo, que es más fácil pasar un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que entrar un rico en el reino de Dios. Sus discípulos, oyendo esto, se asombraron en gran manera, diciendo: ¿Quién, pues, podrá ser salvo? Y mirándolos Jesús, les dijo: Para los hombres esto es imposible; mas para Dios todo es posible.
Jesús nos enseña que para seguirle de cerca es necesario tener el corazón desprendido de los bienes materiales y lleno de Amor de Dios.
Rico es aquel que está apegado a sus riquezas de tal manera que no es capaz de ver más allá. Que tiene el corazón tan invadido de preocupaciones terrenas que no le cabe nada más. En un corazón así no entra Dios por la sencilla razón de que ya está lleno.
Jesús no se refiere únicamente a las riquezas materiales sino también a todo aquello que llena el corazón de sí mismo: la soberbia, la vanidad, el orgullo, el egoísmo, el individualismo, etc. Es más difícil mantener el corazón desprendido de uno mismo que de las cosas materiales.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Jesus teaches us that to follow him closely it is necessary to have a heart detached from material goods and full of God's Love.
Rich is one who is attached to his riches in such a way that he is not able to see beyond. That his heart is so invaded by earthly worries that he can't fit anything else. God does not enter a heart like that for the simple reason that it is already full.
Jesus does not only refer to material riches but also to everything that fills the heart of himself: pride, vanity, pride, selfishness, individualism, etc. It is more difficult to keep the heart detached from oneself than from material things.
