As the publisher of Lee’s Summit City Lifestyle magazine, I wanted to share about our annual Holiday Giving Campaign where we are looking for the hidden needs in our community, and we are asking for your help finding those needs!

If you know of anyone who may fall between the cracks of getting help or who has had an unexpected illness, accident, life event or who struggles to make ends meet, please consider nominating them for our giveaway.

Nominations are completely confidential and the identities of our recipients will be kept private. Recipients will simply be mailed a check with a card that lets them know that someone nominated them for the giveaway. It is up to you if you would like to let them know the nomination came from you.

Submissions are being accepted now through November 30th, so visit our foundation website at KingdomBuildingFoundation.org to fill out our submission form. There are no strings attached, as this is a free gift from us to those in need in our community.

We also invite you to share it with your coworkers, friends and family to nominate anyone they may know with a hidden need that would benefit from funds from our annual giving campaign.

Good news – it looks like most of the rain will clear out by this evening. The lighting ceremony will take place on the Green Street Lawn at 6:30 pm.

Hemlines Boutique has brought its selection of fresh, chic clothing for all ages to a new downtown location in Lee's Summit. Owners Sarah Ritz, Ashley Bowen, and Amy Easterla share a common goal of offering women of all ages a selection of items that make them feel confident and comfortable.

Bowen explains, "One of the things that brought us together was that we wanted to find better quality clothing than what we had been seeing for women our age. It seemed other boutiques were geared to younger people, and we're in our 40s."
