Kansas City officially broke ground this morning on a $20 million parking garage at the corner of 18th Street and Lydia Avenue, marking a major milestone in the city’s Revive the Vine initiative. The new multi-level facility will replace an existing surface lot and provide up to 470 parking spaces, with enhanced lighting, fencing, and pavement upgrades to better serve residents, businesses, and visitors. The garage is designed to support other projects in the area, including the upcoming 18th Street Pedestrian Mall, with construction expected to wrap by June 2026—just ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
