Vinnie mashed. Wacha battled. But the Royals couldn’t weather the Chicago storm.

The Royals struck first behind Vinnie Pasquantino’s 10th BOMB of the year — a no-doubter into the right field seats. But the White Sox punched back with a Tim Elko 2-run blast, a solo shot from Chase Meidroth, and a sac fly off the bat of Edgar Quero.

Michael Wacha worked six strong, but the bats couldn’t back him. Royals mustered 8 hits but left ‘em stranded. The bullpen held tight, but damage was done.

Tomorrow? Michael Lorenzen takes the hill with a shot to even the series. Time to bounce back.
