🚨 The Electoral Commission has disqualified NUP’s Geofrey Kayanja from contesting for the Nakaseke North MP seat after failing to meet nomination requirements.

According to EC Chairperson Justice Byabakama Mugenyi Simon, 6 out of the 10 registered voters supporting Kayanja’s nomination did not append their signatures, leaving him short of the legal minimum. The EC says Kayanja conceded to this during a hearing, prompting his disqualification.

🚨 Uganda Police has clarified the cause of the Mpigi traffic gridlock, dismissing claims linking it to the President.

Police says the jam was caused by heavy traffic from Masaka to Kampala, motorist indiscipline with illegal lanes, an accident at Lungala involving a truck and lorry, and a broken-down trailer at Kamengo.
