The Kansas City Royals took game three and clinched the series win against the Baltimore Orioles — and they did it in historic fashion, breaking two franchise records in a single game. The Royals hit seven home runs and racked up 41 total bases, both franchise records for a single game!

While Michael Lorenzen had his worst start of the season, the offense finally stepped up to carry the load. Maikel Garcia hit two home runs, Jonathan India launched his first as a Royal, and Luke Maile recorded both his first hit and first home run in a Royals uniform. Vinnie Pasquantino and Bobby Witt Jr. hit back-to-back solo shots, and Michael Massey topped it all off with the team’s only multi-run homer in the ninth inning.

Heading into the game, the Royals had a league-low 18 home runs. After launching seven in one night, they raised that total to 25 — enough to leapfrog the Rockies and tie the Pirates. While home runs aren’t usually the team’s bread and butter, this breakout performance was a much-needed sign that the offensive slump is truly behind them.

The Royals are now 11-2 in their last 13 games and improve to 19-16 overall, just three games out of first place in the division. They now return home to face the 10-24 White Sox in a four-game series. So far this season, they've consistently taken care of business against the league’s worst teams — and hopefully that trend continues.

Cole Ragans will take the mound tonight for his seventh start of the season — and his first since missing a turn in the rotation due to injury.

The Kansas City Royals not only swept the doubleheader but also completed a series sweep against the Rockies. They took care of business against a struggling team and improved their record to 12-14.

Cole Ragans started Game 1 but labored through three innings before exiting with groin tightness. He was visibly not himself, struggling with both control and velocity. While no official updates have been released, the team remains hopeful it’s not a long-term issue.

The bats came alive yesterday, tallying 22 hits across both games. The Royals also snapped their 17-game streak of scoring four runs or fewer. While it's encouraging to see the offense wake up, it’s worth noting that it came against arguably the worst team in baseball. Still, they did what they needed to do.

Kyle Isbel was the MVP of Game 1, driving in three runs on two hits and executing his second squeeze bunt of the series. Salvador Perez had a monster day at the plate, going 5-for-8 with four doubles—missing a home run by less than a foot. Hunter Renfroe had a solid Game 1 as well, collecting two hits (including a double) and a walk. It's good to see him heating up.

Tyler Tolbert made an impact in both games, scoring a run in each, making a diving catch, and stealing a base. Drew Waters also contributed with a fantastic catch and an RBI in both games.

Overall, these were two strong team wins with contributions from nearly everyone. Hopefully, the Royals can carry this momentum into the Astros series. Game 1 kicks off tonight at 6:40 PM with Seth Lugo on the mound!

Last season the Chiefs ranked 31st on the NFLPA Report card, this season they were ranked 26th. A slight improvement but still not in the top half.

The Chiefs improved a few big things, they hired a full time nutritionist which took them from 31st to 5th, they added on-site babysitting which took them from 18th to 15th in Treatment of Families. While improvements were made it seems the Chiefs are holding off on the locker room, training room and weight room, likely waiting until the organization decides on building a new stadium or not.

Here are the Chiefs' WR snap counts for Week 13. While still keeping Hopkins under 60% of the snaps (59%), the Chiefs managed to get him the most snaps possible. They paired him with Worthy, who has consistently been in the top 2 WRs week by week. The biggest difference is JuJu and Justin Watson. Watson seems to have taken on a decreased role, with his snaps being split between JuJu and DHop. Mecole is still getting minimal snaps, which is unfortunate. I believe he is capable of being a consistent contributor to this offense.

I'm glad the distribution has become more even. The only adjustment I would request, if possible, is to increase Hardman's snaps. He has been WR1-5 on this roster at some point or another, and he has been reliable in every role. I know Pat has chemistry with him.

What adjustments would you like to see the Chiefs make against the Chargers?

With the recent injury suffered by Jaylen Watson and the recent cap adjustment from restructuring Jawaan Taylor's contract, I would say the Chiefs are poised to trade for some help at Cornerback! These are who I think are the top 3 candidates for the Chiefs.

Jonathan Jones is my personal favorite, he has the most experience including two Super Bowl runs and he is likely the cheapest to acquire in terms of draft capital. He won't transform this defense and he won't make it better than when Watson was healthy but he will be good and reliable depth.

Greg Newsome II is a longshot for the Chiefs in my opinion. The main reason the Browns want to move on from him is he is set to make $13.1M next season and they are currently hamstrung by the Deshaun Watson deal. On top of that the highest paid Chiefs corner in the Pat Mahomes Era is Trent McDuffie this season at $3.8M. I doubt the Browns retain any of his contract and I doubt the Chiefs want to pay that. He has also been struggling on the field.

Jaycee Horn is the most expensive option by a mile. He was the 8th Overall pick in 2021 and since then he has done fairly well. His contract is much like Newsome's, next season he will be making just under $13M and the Chiefs have never paid near that much for a CB. I think Veach could get more with the draft capital and extra $13M next season than what Jaycee could give us.

My consensus is the Chiefs should really try for Jonathan Jones. He was an undrafted free agent who matured into a starting corner on two Super Bowl Winning Patriot Teams at the ripe ages of 23 and 25. He can relate to all the corners in that tight knit CB Room and provide advice and insight! He is the cheapest and the only player of the bunch that is truly a rental.

The Kansas City Royals took 3 out of 4 against the Guardians on the road. We currently sit 4-3 to start the 20 game gauntlet and we're 1 game back from leading the AL Central. The loss was definitely frustrating but I'll take 3 out of 4 every single time. I've been seeing a lot of complaints about the bullpen management in the last game and I'm here to come to Q's defense. In the last 2 days we had played 3 games and in those games our starting pitchers went, 4 Inn, 4.2 Inn and 1.2 Inn. The bullpen was stretched thin. Starting the 7th Q had 3 options: Force Wacha through the 7th, put Erceg in early or send out either Steven Cruz or Stratton. I fully support his decision, Wacha has been on a tear and we should have a relatively rested bullpen heading into the Astros.

Game 1 was won mainly by MJ Melendez, he hit a 3 Run Go-Ahead HR and made a fantastic diving catch to save 2 runs.

Game 2 was headlined by Salvy's 450+ ft Grand Slam. He went on to finish the game with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs. He tied the franchise record for Grand Slams and Multi-HR games!

Game 3 was a bullpen win, Lorenzen left early with an injury and Hernández and McArthur combined for 4.1 Inn and 1 ER. DeJong also had a 2 Run HR.

Game 4 was our pitching reaching its limit. The bullpen had thrown 16.2 Inn in the span of 2 days. With limited options Q decided to push Wacha who couldn't manage a 4th time through the order.

Cole Ragans: 4 IP 1 ER 4 K

Salvador Perez: 7-18 3 BB 4 R 2 2B 2 HR 6 RBI

James McArthur: 2 G 3.0 IP 0 ER 5 K

The Royals move on to face the Astros who sit 1st in the AL West with a record of 71-62. Despite the loss yesterday, Q's decision to stretch Wacha has saved the bullpen for this Astros series. Everyone but Erceg should be good to pitch as early as tonight! Let's hope the Royals can take at least 2 from the Astros!

The Kansas City Royals drop two out of three to the Phillies at home. This was the beginning of a 20 game stretch in which the Royals face a playoff team. This series has me slightly worried for our playoff hopes. This team lives and dies off of starting pitching and Singer and Lugo had bad starts. Granted they've been elite all season and they were probably due a bad start at some point, on the other end this was probably the most talented team they've faced and the pitching came up short all the way around. I'm certainly not panicked but this series plays into the narrative that we can't beat good teams.

Game 1 was a very fun game! Wacha had his 5th Quality Start in a row, a career high. Salvy had his 900th RBI on a big HR and Renfroe had a 2 Run HR!

Game 2 was a poor showing all the way around. Singer gave up 5 across 5 innings, the bullpen gave up 6 across 4 innings and the offense only recorded 5 hits for 2 runs. You simply can't win baseball games with those numbers let alone all 3 lacking at the same time.

Game 3 was continuation of the last game. They only put up 3 runs while going 0-11 with RISP. The defense from Maikel Garcia was atrocious, Lugo allowed 5 runs across 5.1 innings and Will Smith got tagged for 5 runs in his single inning. The offense didn't come through when needed and the pitching failed to make up for it.

Michael Wacha: 6 IP 2 ER 5 SO 1 W

Salvador Perez: 4-11 2 2B 1 HR 1 R 3 RBI

Lucas Erceg: 1 IP 0 ER 1 SO 1 SV

Despite the series loss I believe that it was a hiccup. The rotation was due a bad start or two after being so dominant this season and the bats couldn't pick them up. The Royals now travel to Cleveland for a 4 game series. The Guardians are currently 3 games up on the Royals in the division so this series is crucial if we want to take the AL Central crown. The Royals are also now tied for the last wildcard spot with the Twins. This is the home stretch, where the boys are separated from the men. This determines the entire season, are the fans going to remember this season as the boys were playing some ball or will the team cement themselves in KC history with a long playoff run!

The Royals have taken 3 out of 4 from the Detroit Tigers and finish this road trip with a 6-1 record! A lot of people are saying we should've finished 7-0 but I personally dispise that mindset. Yes the bullpen absolutely choked on Saturday and we should have won, but we should've lost Sunday if it wasn't for Melendez. In baseball everything evens out and it's a long long season. The bullpen threw away a seemingly secured win but Melendez picked up the team and stole one right back. To say we should've went 7-0 is detracting from the heroics of Melendez.

Game 1 was yet another gem from Seth Lugo, Bobby and Vinnie carried the offense with 2 HR and 6 RBIs combined.

Game 2 had a near quality start from Ragans and 4 players had multiple hits(Salvy, Renfroe, Fermin and Hampson)

Game 3 was the heart break of the road trip. Hunter Harvey came in for the save and allowed two runs, Bubic allowed the ghost runner in the 10th to score and McArthur gave up two in the 11th for a Tigers walk off. I think Q is learning who to trust in the bullpen and it's leaning towards Zerpa, Smith and Erceg to pitch the high leverage spots.

Game 4 was stolen from the Tigers, Q used all 4 bench players in the 9th inning before Pinch Hitter MJ Melendez hit a go ahead 3 run HR to ultimately win us the game!

Seth Lugo: 8 IP 1 ER 3 SO

Vinnie Pasquantino: 6-18 4 R 1 BB 2 HR 6 RBI

Will Smith: 2 G 2.0 IP 0 ER 3 SO

The Royals took care of business on the road trip, now we move to take on Boston at home. The Red Sox are in direct competition with us for the wildcard spots, this series might serve as a crucial tie breaker at the end of the season. The offense is clicking, the starting pitching is maintaining excellence and the bullpen is slowly being felt out. I believe this team has the pieces, not only to make the postseason but to possibly have a deep run!

The Royals fire out of the gates following the All-Star break, sweeping the Chicago White Sox across 3 games! Before I start awarding the Royals their flowers, I will say that this Chicago team is really awful. Regardless, we did all we could do by sweeping the series! Royals starting pitching combined for 23 IP and 1 ER across 3 games! A pitching dominant sweep.

Game 1 was headlined by a 7 scoreless inning start by Michael Wacha. Bobby went 3-3 w a HR and 2 RBI, Massey also had a multi-hit game with 2 RBI himself.

Game 2 was won off the back of Brady Singer's scoreless outing of 7 innings. Bobby had another 3 hit game and Salvy had 2 hits w an RBI.

Game 3 was a summary of this season in my opinion, I was able to go to this game in person and it was electric. Seth Lugo pitched a complete game allowing just one run, Garcia and Blanco had some great defensive plays and Bobby went to work with his 3rd 3-hit game in a row! A classic Royals win!

Seth Lugo: CG 9.0 IP 1 ER 6 K

Bobby Witt Jr. 9-11 1 BB 1 2B 1 HR 3 RBI 4 R

Michael Wacha: 7.0 IP 0 ER 7 K

The Royals improve to 10 game above .500 and become tied with the Twins for 2nd in the division and tied for the 2nd wildcard spot with the Twins as well. Today we will face off against the Arizona Diamondbacks for a 3 game series. The Diamondbacks are barely over .500 and went 2-1 against the Cubs following the All-Star Break. I hope we can win this series and take care of business against the Cubs this next weekend!

The Royals have taken 3 out of 4 against the Guardians! Coming into the series Cleveland had lost only 3 out of their last 10. The series was best summarized by Sunday's game, the 3rd largest crowd of the season was in full force at 28,000. The crowd was the loudest I'd heard it in 7 years, they even started the wave and it made 4 rotations around the stadium. Speaking with a friend on the video team, he said that's the first wave he'd seen all year. The team is back, the city is back and hopefully this all culminates into the Royals being back in the playoffs!

Game 1 was a tightly contested, low scoring affair. Wacha had a solid start going, allowing just a run in the 5th. Despite his 88 pitches and his routine struggles in the 3rd time through the order, Q brought him out for the 6th. He proceeded to strikeout 1 and allow a single and double. With 2 on in a 1 run game, Q called on Sam Long to get us out of this pinch. Long went on to strikeout Bo Naylor and the hottest hitter in baseball, Steven Kwan to keep the deficit at 1. The next inning, back to back triples from Isbel and Garcia gave us the 2 runs we needed to win!

Game 2, the offense came alive against Triston McKenzie, who allowed 5 runs in just 2.1 innings. The bats put up 10 and Marsh had a solid outing of 6 IP and 1 ER. A solid team win with everyone doing their part.

Game 3 was the sole loss. I was at this game and even from the 1B side I could tell you that ball was foul. Jhonkensy Noel hit a foul ball down the LF line that was ruled a HR, upon further review New York agreed. All video evidence shows that is false. We lost by far more than 2 but this swung the momentum in their favor and sucked the life out of the crowd. If anything I hope this game will be protested by the Royals and hopefully replayed. If not, no worries. We still won the series. Easily the worst call I've seen live in my life.

The Royals take 2 out of 3 against the Marlins. I heard people talk about this series being a turning point. I disagree, sure it does good for the momentum of the team and the morale in the clubhouse but this was handling business. The Marlins are a crappy team, they've use 50 players in the MLB so far this year and it's not even July! This next series is the real turning point. Can we compete with the Guardians and can we stifle their momentum, those are the real questions. As for this series the Royals won off of their starting pitching. Cole Ragans, Brady Singer and Seth Lugo combined for 19.1 IP 2 ER and 24 K across their three starts!

Game 1, the Royals ended their losing streak. They took control in the bottom of the 4th when Vinnie and Salvy led off the inning with back to back HRs! Then Isbel put the cherry on top with a two out single to put us up 3-0. Our hitting still looked bad outside of the 3 HRs.

Game 2 was a sad sight to behold. We lost mainly because of our lack of offense but we lost in other ways too. We had a costly fielding error and a costly base running error. A run differential of -2 in a 1 run loss. Our identity isn't HRs or a nasty bullpen but it's base running, defense and small ball. We lost game 2 because we did poorly at our strengths.

Game 3 was scary, the Marlins called up their 13th starting pitcher this season, Valente Bellozo, who proceeded to pitch 5 scoreless innings allowing just 2 hits. He has a 5.02 ERA in 52 innings of work split between AA and AAA. With two outs in the 8th and only 4 hits all day it was looking like it was going to be another lack of offense loss. Bobby lit the spark with a triple! The boys had 5 more hits and we put 5 runs to win. Hopefully this 8th inning marks the end of our hitting woes.

Brady Singer: 7.1 IP 1 ER 5 SO

Vinnie Pasquantino: 4-12 1 2B 1 HR 2 RBI

Seth Lugo: 6.0 IP 0 ER 8 SO

Our premier starting rotation will face off against the Guardians high octane offense next for 4 games. If we can win at least 1 of the first 2 games behind Marsh or Wacha then I believe we are poised to take the series! Let's pack the K this weekend for this highly meaningful series!
