A near disastrous third-period collapse turned to pure joy when Jakov Novak made himself part of Kansas City Mavericks franchise lore with an overtime goal to send his team to the ECHL Kelly Cup Finals for the second time in three years. Jakov Novak played just six games for the Kansas City Mavericks during the regular season, spending most of the year with the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
