I found out 2 years ago that my mother had a baby she gave up for adoption 18 months before she had me, and then had another baby when I was three, and she also gave that baby up for adoption.

All three of us have different fathers, and I think the only reason she kept me was because my father married her, but that marriage only lasted a year.

My mother remarried when I was five, and my half brother was born when I was seven. As far as I knew for 59 years, he and I were our mother's only children.

I never saw her pregnant with the second baby because she sent me to live with my great grandparents across the country during her pregnancy. My mother and grandmother were the only people who knew about this, and they both took the secret to their graves.

I take my lunch break in my car. Always have for the last 10 years at my office. Apparently, a coworker who's historically had beef with me started telling people I was doing meds on my lunch breaks, and that's why I never ate in the break room.

She even compiled a lengthy list of my behaviors that, according to her, mimicked meds use. This list included things like being spaced out, being more talkative some days than others, and often being tired. You know, also just signs of being an overworked adult.

“MANAGERS, what is the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL thing an employee has done that RESULTED in an IMMEDIATE TERMINATION...? 🥶💀”

I had to send a guy to a remote gas/petroleum refinery site for an inspection. He had been reliable in the past, so I didn't think much of it at first. However, this time, he didn't show up for the mandatory pre-drug test the day before his flight and gave me a long-winded excuse about car troubles.

I was recovering from a bone graft to my collar bone and couldn't go myself. Against my recommendations, the director decided to send him anyway.

We flew him to the site for his induction, where he'd have to complete the test anyway. Partway through the induction, he got up and left.

That night, I called, but got no answer. His hotel confirmed he had checked in recently, so I let it go, relieved nothing major had happened.

The next morning, the client informed me he had abruptly left the induction, claiming personal issues... 😨

My friend lied about everything. We were friends for over a year, but it felt like we'd known each other forever. He would always make it a point to let me know that I was someone he trusted and that I was the only person he had.

He would tell me that everyone leaves him, that he always hurts people, and my response to this was to make sure that I would never leave his texts unanswered.

One day, out of the blue, he tells me that our friendship is over. I remember feeling like my heart was shattered. I cried for weeks trying to figure out what I'd done wrong.

Our mutual friends assured me that he had a very good reason for doing this and he'd be back to being my friend soon, so I began waiting constantly, worried about him.

He told all our mutual friends what was wrong except me and instructed them not to let me know...

STARTED OFF AS A SMALL LIE, but then snowballed into “This is my life now.” 😳

I was homeless at 19, sleeping under a bridge in Charlotte near the Music Factory. I needed a job, so I dressed as best I could, which wasn't very well, walked into a bar on the 7th, and lied about my work experience. They gave me the job. I started working that day. They paid me cash after every shift.

I worked there for 3 years, became the manager, and now I love cooking. Never cooked a day in my life up till that point. A lady in her 50s who was acting as the kitchen manager trained me. She knew I lied, but...

“What’s the CRAZIEST THING that has happened at your work Christmas party? 🤯”

One year, I was asked if I’d be willing to dress up as Santa for our holiday party. I didn’t think I was going to be very convincing, but I reluctantly agreed.

On the day of the party, we all were hanging out in the warehouse, eating cookies, drinking coffee, and having breakfast. And I told the few people I was sitting with that I had to go outside and make a call. I really went to go change into my Santa costume.

I came back yelling, "Ho, ho, ho!" as loud as I could, put on my best jolly old man voice, drew names out of a hat, handed out prizes, took pictures with staff, ate cookies, then said I had to go as my sleigh was double parked.

Came back in after changing, and the amount of people who legitimately thought I missed Santa was very surprising. People I stood next to and took pictures with were telling me how I missed out. Like, GROWN-ASS ADULTS.

I couldn’t believe it...
