On Sunday, Battery Tour joined , Nane Experience, and Nairobi for a powerful community service day 🤝⚡️
with from Mtaa Safi, showcased what it means to be an outlet of change — driving impact through community-led farm projects and WASH initiatives that create clean, safe sanitation spaces for all.
This work directly supports SDG 6: Clean Water & Sanitation and SDG 2: Zero Hunger, proving that sustainable change starts at the grassroots 🌱💧
From resettling schedules to hands-on community clean-ups, this day reminded us of a core belief at Battery Tour:
everyone is an outlet of change — just like the Mtaa Safi initiative.
Powering people. Powering communities. Powering change. ⚡️🌍

Getting the world Plugged-IN

The “Battery Tour” has grown to be a global initiative hosting sustainable powered concerts, festivals, and events powered by renewable energy. But the story of how we got here is quite complex.

My motivation was simple--change the world. Early in my music career, I knew that I wanted my story and impact to extend beyond the stage. After a flurry of musical collaborations and stage performances around the country, I was blessed with the opportunity to perform for the judges on the hit show “The X-Factor”.

After my experience there, I was struggling to establish my brand and define my contribution to the musical industry. After being denied as a performer on stage after stage, I vowed to “Say Hey” to the world in my own way. I was determined to use music as a vehicle for self-expression, positivity, and love--but I needed to bring the music to the people.

Most musical performances require an extensive amount of electricity and energy for the equipment. Because of this, many entertainers spend a significant amount of time coordinating with an event host to ensure that the facilities can accommodate the machinery necessary for a performance. As a performer, I was disgusted with what I saw as a waste of energy and resources. I knew that there had to be a better way--a way to bring musical performance to the masses while using eco-friendly practices.
