This week (Friday, September 18 at 10 am Central) on the Tasty Brew Music Radio Show I welcome Mike Paget, Director of the Green Guitar Folk House Series to talk about upcoming shows including September's edition with Scott Cook and our own Jenna Rae. Willi Carlisle joins me via telephone in the 11 am Central hour - he has a new record dropping in November and is coming to Knuckleheads Kansas City in October.

This Saturday, September 19 I host Siren Song FM on KKFI 90.1 FM. Joining me via telephone will be The Shandies from Springfield, Missouri to give us details on their new project.

This week's musical guest on the Tasty Brew Music Radio Show is songwriter Jeff Porter! I've been talking to Jeff for YEARS about being on the show and it's finally happening...kicking off Year No. 17 on KKFI 90.1 FM in style!

Jeff has been making meaningful music for 40 years, from concert halls in Norway to clubs and festival stages around his native Kansas City and throughout the United States. His many musical endeavors include the Grammy nominated Blue Riddim Band and his current spot as lead guitarist for The Rainmakers. He has twice been inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame, and his songs have been recorded by Jamaican legends The Skatalites, New York hipsters The Slackers, and Tasty Brew Music favorite Sara Morgan.

Tune in beginning at 10 am Central this Friday September 4 on KKFI 90.1 FM, streaming at kkfi.org or via the KKFI app.

It's been a minute (over a decade) but this Friday, July 17, at Noon Central Host Diana Linn welcomes Blaine Younger Music back to the KKFI 90.1 FM studios for an acoustic set on MidCoast LIVE!

Blaine Younger's latest album is “Straight From The Heartland,” released in the spring of 2025 with 11 original songs, his first studio album since 2010. To support that release, The Blaine Younger Band is again touring; the same crew passionate Midwest fans came to love in the early 2000s while a few more friends have joined along the way.

Younger is originally from Kansas. In 2016 Blaine won the Nashville Songwriters Association International song contest with his song "PatiOasis," which introduced him into the Nashville songwriting community. He currently lives in Nashville writing songs every day for himself and other artists, including over 30 independent cuts.

This Friday, July 3, on the Tasty Brew Music Radio Show on KKFI 90.1 FM I'm celebrating America's birthday with selected songs from my version of the Great American Songbook. Also scheduled is a musical conversation with Kaston Guffey of My Politic scheduled to play in a couple of weeks. Kaston and I have been emailing and texting back and forth for a few years now staying in touch and we're finally going to have a conversation and be in town on the same day for a show!

My Politic is an indie-Folk duo created by Kaston Guffey And Nick Pankey. The two of them grew up in the Ozarks & have been performing as My Politic for over 15 years.
