Hey Fourstates Limited instability has suppressed the severe thunderstorm risk across southwest Missouri and southeast Kansas so far this evening. A few strong to severe storms are still possible mainly west of Highway 65 tonight through 6 AM, however, capable of producing hail up to the size of
golf balls. Strong to severe storms will be possible Monday
afternoon through Monday night. There may be multiple rounds of storms through the entire period. All hazards will be possible including a few tornadoes, however the main risks will be large hail and damaging wind. Heavy rain may also lead to localized flooding. Please remain alert and be ready to take action all modes of severe weather possible.

Hey Fourstates, a severe thunderstorm outbreak is expected across the region this afternoon and evening. Here is the latest severe thunderstorm timeline "window" for this afternoon. Large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes are all possible with this activity. Exercise heightened weather awareness, particularly if you plan to venture outdoors today. Thunderstorms will be moving rapidly (50-60mph), so ensure you have a reliable means of receiving weather alerts today! The severe threat will subside tonight.

Hey Fourstates, a severe weather threat is expected tonight and tomorrow. The greatest threat for severe weather tonight will occur between 7pm and 3am as a cold front moves through the area. Severe weather tomorrow will depend on where the front stalls, with rain and embedded thunderstorms expected throughout the day. Another cold front will bring a chance for severe weather on Sunday, with the greatest potential for severe thunderstorms over central Missouri in the afternoon and evening. Training storms with heavy rainfall are expected overnight, and it is essential to remain weather-aware this weekend. Never drive through flooded roadways, and turn around don’t drown.

Hey Fourstates strong to severe thunderstorms with the threat of Hail up to size of golf balls, wind gusts upto 60mph and a tornado or two will be possible west of I-49 between 9 PM and 4 AM tonight. Then, a line of storms will bring a greater chance of strong to severe thunderstorms between 5 and 7 AM Wednesday morning. A broken line of strong to severe thunderstorms may be ongoing Wednesday morning west of Highway 63. As the day goes on, redevelopment/re-intensification of these storms will bring potentially significant severe weather to areas east of Highway 63. Several inches of rainfall will occur and will cause flash flooding. Highest flood concern area right now is southeast of the area. Hey Fourstates There is a chance for severe thunderstorms tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will move through the area tonight into Sunday morning. A few storms may be strong to severe, capable of producing hail up to the size of ping pong balls and gusts up to 60 mph. Forecast rainfall amounts range from 0.25 to 0.50 inches across are area, with localized higher amounts up to 0.75 inch. Hey Fourstates a few strong to marginally severe storms will be possible this afternoon and evening, capable of producing damaging wind gusts, small hail and a low probability of a spin up tornado.. Most activity will remain sub-severe. Rain will lift north through the area this morning with a second batch of rain this afternoon and evening. A widespread 0.50 to 1.0” of rainfall is expected across the area. Locations west of the I-49 corridor have the potential to get locally higher amounts near 1.0 to 2.0”.

Hey Fourstates A Flood Watch is in effect for southeast Kansas and parts of southwestern and south-central Missouri from 6 p.m. Sunday to 6 p.m. Tuesday. Thunderstorms are moving through the region now; while they aren’t severe at the moment, a stronger system arriving later this evening could bring strong wind gusts and a possible isolated tornado.

🌩️ Elevated Risk Tomorrow: Expect a line of storms Monday afternoon into early Tuesday. This system has the potential for damaging winds, hail, and embedded tornadoes.

WHAT: Flooding from excessive rainfall is possible.
WHERE: Southeast Kansas and parts of Missouri. Affected counties include:

Kansas: Bourbon, Cherokee, Crawford
Missouri: Barry, Barton, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dent, Douglas, Greene, Howell, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, Oregon, Ozark, Shannon, Stone, Taney, Texas, Vernon, Webster, and Wright
WHEN: This evening through early Tuesday morning

IMPACTS: Heavy runoff may cause flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, low-lying areas, and urban areas with poor drainage. Low-water crossings could also become flooded.

DETAILS: Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall are expected, with thunderstorms developing and repeatedly moving over the same areas through Tuesday morning. Rainfall could total 3-4 inches, with some localized areas receiving up to 6-9 inches.

Stay Informed: Monitor local forecasts and prepare for possible Flood Warnings. Those in flood-prone areas should be ready to take action if flooding develops.
