Artist: Pete Turner
Né le 30 mai 1934 à Albany New York, Usa

Depuis cinquante ans, Pete Turner a réalisé de nombreux clichés de publicité (Bacardi, BMW, Volkswagen…) ainsi que des couvertures de magazines (Good Housekeeping, Esquire, Look…). Il a publié sa première monographie chez Abrams en 1986. Son dernier livre, « La couleur du jazz » (Rizzoli, 2006), comprend de mémorables et provocantes couvertures d’albums devenues légendaires .

Avec Turner, la couleur devient un élément graphique, structure l’espace et échappe aux conventions. , architectures saturées de couleurs intenses .L’attirance pour la couleur, sa maîtrise, le goût du mystère et de l’insolite sont les traits les plus frappants d’une oeuvre accomplie et unique. Pete Turner a travaillé avec les plus grands magazines (Look, Life, Esquire Magazine, National Geographic), ses oeuvres figurent dans de nombreux musées , y compris la Maison europénne de la photographie à Paris (MEP) le Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography et l’International Center of Photography de New York. La George George Eastman House (International Museum of Photography and Film) de Rochester est dépositaire de l’œuvre de Turner et l’a honoré en lui organisant une exposition personnelle intitulée : “Pete Turner: Empowered by Color”.

Pete Turner a signé des ouvrages dans lesquels on peut suivre son parcours en Afrique et dans les Amériques, mieux comprendre son goût du jazz à travers les nombreuses pochettes de disques qu’il a réalisées. Simultanément cette année plusieurs grandes expositions lui sont consacrées.

Thinking is "Stressful" and "Stress" makes most of us feel energetically "Drained/ Exhausted" much like Depression-- This state of awareness/ belief has been increasing [especially in the USA]since the widespread use/abuse of various and until very recently in our history ILLEGAL drugs such as Ma*****na and the massive overstimulation coming from our mainstream media outlets. "Information Overload" is the most common diagnosis, however:

IMHO: We need to ask ourselves, what kind of people we are becoming under these conditions. Are we becoming "Comfortably Numb" / "Zombi-like" Beings and if so, is this what is in the best interest of our world and the future of our children and our God Given Rights to Choose
