I founded Positively Joy, a Christian divorce ministry, because every year, hundreds of thousands of marriages end, even after the promises have been made and the rings exchanged.

So if you're divorced, you're not alone. If you're not divorced, you probably have a friend who is. So let me be that friend to you today.

My marriage ended, but this story doesn't. Really, it's not even about the story of the marriage. It's about a God that took me, a woman who felt unloved and abandoned, then made a miracle in me to realize that I was none of those things.

God loves his daughters, and in the Gospel of John, chapter 15, Jesus tells us how to find joy. He tells us to live, abide, dwell in the Father's love, and do his will, and you will be filled with a real joy. God wants us filled.

Do you believe that? I do, really deeply. But I'll be honest, there were times when I did not. I even questioned whether God would hate me if I got divorced.

It was a heart-wrenching decision to leave, but I realized that God would love me. That's the message I want to leave with you today. Divorce doesn't have to be the end of your story. It can be a beautiful beginning to a relationship with the Father. I want to leave you with three things to remember. God loves you unconditionally, recklessly, and beautifully.

He forgives you no matter your past. So forgive yourself. Lay down your shame and your guilt at his feet. He'll carry that for you.
