This past Sunday, Sarah Jakes Roberts delivered a powerful message titled "Help Is On the Way" at The Potter's House. At the beginning of her sermon, she shared details about the neck injury she sustained six weeks ago, revealing that doctors told her that had the injury occurred one inch higher, it could have been fatal, and one inch lower, it could have left her paralyzed.

Drawing from her own experience, Sarah encouraged listeners to bring their pain to God, not just their praise. She reminded the congregation that faith is not about pretending everything is okay, but about trusting God even in life's most difficult moments.

Reflecting on her journey, she also shared these words on Instagram: “So, even though it’s not the outcome I wanted, it is the one I’ve been trusted with. I choose hope in the midst of it all.”

A Bible lying in the middle of the intersection at Woods Chapel and Valley View Rd. in Blue Springs remained remarkably unharmed today despite being run over by multiple cars. The cover stayed intact, only a few pages were bent, and incredibly, not a single page was ripped or torn.

The individual who found the Bible was able to locate and return it back to the owner and was told by the owner that he has been writing in the Bible and plans to one day give it to his daughter.

Revive the Vine is Kansas City’s $400+ million reinvestment initiative in the historic 18th & Vine Jazz District. The program combines major public infrastructure projects with private development to restore cultural landmarks, expand housing, improve walkability, and support neighborhood vitality.

Key City-led projects include a pedestrian plaza on 18th Street, a new parking garage at 18th & Lydia, Paseo streetscape upgrades, Blues Park renovations, and ADA improvements in surrounding neighborhoods. Private partners are delivering new housing, retail, cultural venues, and a reimagined Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and hotel.

As part of the initiative, the City is also working to activate vacant storefronts by bringing in small businesses, artists, and entrepreneurs—ensuring 18th & Vine remains a vibrant cultural and commercial destination for generations to come.
