Is this load bearing?
Yes, I know I need to ask a structural engineer, but I wanted to poll the audience first. I’m not gonna tear it down without proper verification.

Bathroom remodel estimate
Hello, I’m looking for feedback on a bathroom remodel estimate.

I’m hiring a general contractor. I’m in the UP of Michigan. The estimate is $18,622. I’m looking for feedback on:

1-Is this an appropriate level of detail? For this price I’d expect a bit more itemized based on task, (plumbing $, tile $, etc.).

2-Is this a reasonable price? They are providing all materials but have been hesitant to give me a price range for tile, shower door, and other customer select options.

Overall I’m impressed with their reviews, and they seem professional, these are just two concerns I have before moving forward. Thank you for all the help!

Driveway fix for scraping
Newly purchased home, purchased with the knowledge that the driveway is essentially unusable as is. The red circles are where standard cars scrape.

Questions:

Is this fixable with a repair?

Would ripping up and replacing the driveway fix the issue with a regrade (given the angle from street to garage)?

Should I just buy a truck and call it a day?

Contractor doesn’t know how to find crown molding
We recently worked with a contractor to create a little bump-out wall to make a room seem slightly more architecturally interesting. Everything worked out pretty well until it came to replacing the crown molding that was on the ceiling and match the existing one. First, he said he would just buy it at a hardware store, but then said that he couldn't find it and would try to look for it online, but has since basically given up. Is it really that hard to find this kind of crown molding out there?

(i’m pretty sure he’s just trying to start his business and bit of a bit more than he can chew. But his framer was decent, and the price was obviously good. In this case we probably got what we paid for, but I would still love to finish up this last bit)

Guys who knowingly married the promiscuous woman in the group or a woman who cheated on you before marriage, how did it turn out?
We've all heard the stories like "You're dating Rebecca? Rebecca "the train conductor" Rebecca? Rebecca the Goat Rebecca?"

I realize we see this archetype and storyline throughout media and Ive heard about it through the grapevine, but I've never really heard about the aftermath.

I know we all have pasts, no judgements, just curious as every guy I know has been cheated on or dated the promiscuous person at some point, but they all moved on

So, guys who knowingly settled down with a very promiscuous partner, how did it turn out?

Did you end up happily ever after?

Guys Who Struggled Dating In Your Early 20s, How Did You Improve It?
I'm curious to know how guys that struggled in their early 20s with women and dating found a way to improve, or if it just got easier as you got older. Or, did it never really get better for you?

If it matters any i'm currently 22 and do struggle a bit with dating, not 100% sure why but I am pretty average overall in my opinion. I'm average height at 5'9, and kinda skinny/athletic build. Some of my friends have said i'm good looking, which I personally am not sure if its true based on my lack of dating history. I am a bit shy around people I don't know IRL, so maybe that plays a bigger part in it that I realize.

I do feel like a lot of the time I am rather invisible to women that don't know me, whereas random women will smile or greet other guys I know while i'm just kinda there. I know they say women rarely if ever approach first, but i've firsthand seen it happen to a few guys and it has never happened to me, which makes me believe maybe it's my looks.

Married men... What things do you do to intentionally annoy your wife?
So guys, we all think we are funny and like to find things that we think are funny and annoy our wives with them. Guys in relationships do this too... it's sort of a universal part of being a man.

For example, I have amazon Alexa and discovered that it has a app built in to it that is called ask my wife.

So occasionally I'll say things like, "Alexa, Ask my wife if i can go to a strip club." Alexa will respond with something like "Your wife says, Absolutely, I want you to be happy."

So what do you guys do to annoy your wife?

Edit: My wife always says, "NO" and threatens to get rid of Alexa.

Single Men, if you’re out at a bar or club and a random woman asks you to buy her a drink, what do you usually do and why?
For me, this has happened before, and it really depends on the situation and circumstances.

For example, I was at a bar ordering a beer when an older woman next to me said, “And me?” I ignored her, and she said it again: “For me too?” She repeated it several times, and I still ignored her.

Another time, I was walking toward the pool tables when a girl walked up to me and said, “You’ve been selected to buy me a drink.” I quickly replied, “And you’ve been selected to kiss my ass,” and kept walking.

In those cases, it’s definitely a no.

But if I met the girl that night, we’re having a good conversation, and the vibe is good, then sure, I’ll buy her a drink if she asks.

Should I feel humiliated after an awkward moment at a wedding?
My wife and I were at a wedding recently when something awkward happened.

A guy there—someone known for being a bit arrogant and who had been drinking—came up and randomly said something like, “It feels so good being around her,” referring to my wife. The way he said it immediately felt off and made the table go quiet.

I was caught off guard and responded with something like, “That’s a crazy statement.”

He then tried to backpedal and justify it, saying they shared a lot of high school memories, sat together in class, went to school together, etc. But then he added “and not only,” in a way that came off as clearly suggestive and disrespectful.

The newlyweds were literally right nearby taking photos, and I didn’t want to turn a wedding moment into a scene over an idiot trying to provoke something.

Honestly, I felt surprisingly calm and just chose to let it go. A couple minutes later, he acted completely normal again and even asked me to take a photo with him like nothing had happened. I went along with it, and the rest of the night actually went fine—my wife and I danced, had a good time, everything felt normal.

Now I’m stuck replaying it in my head wondering:
Did I handle this like a mature adult who kept things under control, or did I let someone disrespect me and my marriage too easily and lose respect from my wife and friends?
