Next up in our Season 9 Nationals spotlight ✨… meet the one and only, The Dream Makers! 💡👩‍🔧

This all-female team from the Kansas State School for the Blind blew us away at the Women in STEM challenge and are now headed to Nationals in Indy! 🙌

Sydney, Viviana, Heaven, and their captain Lydia proved that innovation is all about teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. From late-night spray-painting sessions to building a versatile, portable prototype, they’ve shown what it means to dream big and make it real.

Let’s hear it for The Dream Makers as they take their talents to the big stage with the help of Vicki and Pam!

Makers, volunteers, & community builders...this one’s for you! The Make48 Season 9 National Competition is coming to Fishers, IN (Nov 14-16, 2025), and we need volunteers to help make it happen.

Shoutout to Jay Flores for his book release of Engineer Somebody! Jay never misses an opportunity to inspire the young people around him and we are SO proud of him.

Engineer Someday is a joyful, bilingual (English/Spanish) celebration of curiosity, creativity, and the amazing world of engineering! Through playful rhymes and vibrant illustrations, children explore ten different types of engineers, from aerospace to biomedical, software to civil. Each is compared to something kids already know and love, like superheroes, chefs, magicians, and explorers. Congrats Jay, keep on being you and inspiring the next generation!

Meet the creators of The Coolzie, Michael (SMU Lyle School of Engineering student and team captain), Anthony, Malachi & Greyson (Vandermont students).

The Coolzie is a patent-pending, solar-powered ecosystem that looks like a cooler and a koozie. The core of the product is a top-of-the-line koozie that keeps drinks cold for hours. When placed inside the larger Coolzie Cooler, it can actively cool beverages down to a colder temperature.

The team's winning idea was a standout for its marketability and real-world potential. Michael believes their product was so successful because it was something "most people could see themselves wanting and buying."

Anthony agreed, noting that it was "complicated but yet achievable and would be a good item on the market." Malachi and Greyson also highlighted its practicality, with Malachi calling it "more realistic and more creative," and Greyson pointing out that it could "actually become a real product."

The Make48 Innovation Experience is launching today in over 60 classrooms across the US! Over the next 48 days, students will team up with real companies to tackle real-world challenges, designing product solutions that could change the game.

The journey doesn’t stop there! The top teams will advance to regional competitions this spring, with the finalists heading to the National Championship next fall for a chance to be crowned Make48 Season 10 National Champions.

Good luck to all the incredible teams starting their innovation journey today. We can’t wait to see what you create!

🎉 Congratulations to Opus Smart Band from Kansas State School for the Blind 🎉

Their teamwork, creativity, and innovation shined bright during the Make48 Innovation Experience. They took on the Stadium Accessibility Challenge with Kadean Construction, Foreseeable Future Foundation, and KC Blind Spot and came out on top!
