Dick Wilson, whom I worked with a lot in advertising at B-R just posted the sad news about losing his dear friend and creative compadre, Loy Edge. I didn't ever collaborate with Loy, but rather cavorted with Loy-- in both KC and LA.
I have been adjusting to his passing this week while also flashing on all of the great experiences with or because of Loy. My favorite was his promotional campaign for his "No Name" restaurant on the Plaza. He got actors to protest with picket signs while chanting outside the restaurant: "We demand a name! We demand a name!" Traffic was interrupted and cops swarmed in. Not long after that I moved to LA and while driving on the freeway and listening to the radio, I heard Loy's voice as the spokesperson for a CA energy company and I realized he had to be an LA resident to get that gig. So, we both were in LA to have more laughs together. To the end, Loy was kicking up dust and I will miss that.
So, in true Loy spirit-- 'I demand a time and place to protest his passing'.

I used to have a tradition of sending out a photo greeting card and also shooting a video on Christmas day, then editing it that week and sending out copies for New Year's greetings. Here is the last photo card from a Dude Ranch. Giddyup girls and boys!

I love the Quality HIll Playhouse experience as much as everyone in this video. I'm going to see the show for the 3rd time next week and may even sneak in a 4th before it closes. It's the one experience that really moves me to feel the spirit of the holidays.
