A tragic accident has impacted three Dime Box graduates. Two young men—brothers from the Classes of 2018 and 2026—tragically lost their lives. A third graduate, who was a member of this year's basketball and track teams, has undergone multiple major surgeries and remains in critical condition.

This is an unimaginable loss for a small, close-knit community. Please lift up the families, friends, classmates, teammates, coaches, teachers, first responders, and everyone hurting in Dime Box during this incredibly difficult time.

The Texas coaching community has always rallied around those in need. Let's do that again today.

Ponder ISD Coach Blake Crutsinger to Be Released From Hospital After Shot Put Accident

PONDER, Texas — Ponder ISD coach Blake Crutsinger is expected to be released from the hospital after spending nearly two months recovering from a traumatic head injury.

Crutsinger suffered the injury after being struck in the head by a shot put during a track and field event. His recovery has included multiple surgeries and weeks of intensive medical care.

The announcement of his release marks a major milestone in his recovery and comes after an outpouring of support from the Ponder community and beyond. Friends, family, students, coaches and supporters have continued to rally around Crutsinger throughout his rehabilitation.

While his recovery journey will continue, his release from the hospital represents a significant step forward following the devastating accident.
