SPECIAL ARC INVITATION

This past year has been filled with meaningful opportunities, and one of the most special came through working closely with Lisa Macedo, LMFT, on her workbook Life Reset: A Guide for Women to Recenter & Overcome Burnout.

From the beginning, I could see the depth and care Lisa has poured into this book. It’s a thoughtful, practical resource designed to help women better understand burnout, reconnect with themselves, and move forward with greater clarity and intention.

Having worked closely with this project, I’ve also seen the real impact these tools can have. This is a book I genuinely believe will help people.

Now, as we prepare for its release, I’ve been given the opportunity to invite a small group from my network to serve as early readers and share thoughtful reviews ahead of launch.

If you’ve been feeling stretched thin, overwhelmed, or simply in need of a reset, this could be a meaningful resource for you.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please fill out the form (link in comments) or feel free to DM me.

You are also welcome to pass this along to someone you love who might benefit from it, or someone who supports others through seasons of burnout.

We just hit the midpoint of our third internship project with Ensign College + BYU Pathway.

Time to introduce another member of this remarkable team.

✨ Meet Bree Talbot ✨

Bree brings a unique perspective to our reader engagement strategy through her experience in the online book community.

From researching how readers discover books to helping shape our developing content calendar and engagement strategy, her insights have been incredibly valuable as we build systems to better connect with our readers.

When team dynamics shifted this term, Bree continued to show up with creativity, curiosity, and thoughtful ideas to help move the project forward.

Reader insight.
Creative thinking.
Authentic connection.

Bree, thank you for the perspective and energy you bring to this work. 🤍

Utah Author Day was a full circle moment.

A room of readers and writers.

Thoughtful questions.

Familiar faces who I'm so very grateful for their support.

Plus the privilege of special acquaintances met.

Then two very cherished moments by unexpected guests!

Overall a lot of gratitude for this day!

Libraries shaped me as a young writer. Sharing my own workshop in one felt deeply meaningful.

Grateful I got to be a part of this day that celebrates the dedication authors give to the craft.

Today's the day!

Happy Utah Author Day!

The last 24 hours I have reflected a lot on what it means to me to be an author. I have been thinking about why this special day exists. I have reflected on the many events I've attended at so many various stages of my writing career. And I've especially thought about the amazing authors, readers, and friends I've met through the years!

I can't imagine my life without all these experiences. This journey is made up of several small and large steps. Being an author requires vulnerability and courage. Being an author means facing rejection, dealing with harsh feedback, and it means being willing to grow constantly.

It also means serving a community of readers. It means building intimate connections through experiences captured on the pages. And it means striving to be an artist through words.

There is so much required in developing the craft. And even more required to define for each author what it means to be an author.

On this special day I celebrate every Utah author I have met through my decades of observing and then joining the arena. I also celebrate every reader who has rejoiced with us and celebrated our works. We couldn't do it without you!

Thank you .league.of.utah.writers and .county.library and all the other libraries and bookstores who are supporting this day. Also thank you to and the State of Utah for recognizing the value of this day.

What a fun surprise!

Last Saturday, after attending the Christmas Gift & Craft Show with the PPS pop-up bookstore, I stopped by to see a dear friend's new home.

Her gorgeous office has a special spot in its built in bookshelf for autographed books, with a primary focus on Utah authors.

What a joy to see my books among these other represented authors. Always SO surreal to see my books in people's home libraries and on their shelves.

On a week of celebrating Utah Authors it seemed appropriate to share. This state has a lot of talented authors that are doting the earth with their wonderful books!

Thank you .league.of.utah.writers
and for helping to recognize and value the literary work happening in Utah. Stories truly influence and contribute to our society!

- Thank you! 💕📚

Far past due: a Fuzz photo

My little shadow waits for me while I'm gone. This year, he discovered a narrow glass table in our entry room that he can jump onto. It now serves as his lookout post.

Jeff caught this fantastic photo right as snow was starting to fall.

A magical little December photo.

PPS had such a wonderful time at the 2025 Spanish Fork Christmas Gift & Craft Show. We loved meeting so many new readers—and welcoming back familiar faces, too.

The interactions between authors and readers were truly the heart of the event. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a story, picked up a book, or simply said hello.

Please enjoy this final internship project from our intern, Kohlten Johnson—a short video capturing the heart of our weekend and the wonderful connections made around the booth.

I'm back!!! After a great campaign with the Ensign College internship, their work is nearly complete. I'm back sharing my stories, and I'm already jumping back into a very special upcoming opportunity.

I'm delighted about this upcoming event and grateful to Kaysville Library for the invite to present at their location for Author Day.

Looking forward to presenting alongside . Also delighted for how Davis County Library has set up this day! For those interested, they can catch the Kaysville Library presentation in the morning, grab lunch, and hop on over to the Centerville Library for the next round of presentations. What an inspiring opportunity for developing writers on this wonderful day!

We had so much fun at this year's pop-up bookstore. Incredible connections made. Wonderful vendor neighbors. One sold gorgeous knives (see comments for more info). He did a fantastic trade with one of our authors. Then another venue neighbor set us up with some "wands" that we clearly had fun with.

We met a reader who loved books so much that she has a great book tattoo.

And we had spectacular engagements around our books! Sellouts and near sellouts. Today was such a steady flow of some truly wonderful people.

Definitely one of my favorite event days!

Thank you and for making the magic happen..

Also, special thanks to and for your support and for making this possible for some of these authors to be there!

And a huge thank you to the Ensign College interns for the social media posts over these past weeks! We truly appreciate your ideas and support!
