Madison Richmann, a 7th grade student at Cardinal Community Academy, has earned a position on the Colorado state/provincial National Junior High rodeo team and will fellow teammates to Huron, South Dakota, June 24th thru June 30th to compete at the 14th annual National Junior High Finals Rodeo (NJHFR) in the girls breakaway roping and pole bending competitions. "On Wednesday, March 14, one month after the horrific school shooting in Parkland, Florida, students at Weld Central came together for a moment of silence to remember the fourteen students and three teachers who were lost on that day.
Instead of participating in a ‘walk out’ on that day as students in many other schools were, our students chose to ‘walk up’ instead. They choose to walk up to seventeen students who they had never met before and meet them, or walk up to someone who seemed like they could use a friend and make them feel included and welcome." - Dan Kennedy, Principal of WC
