YES! You can PAINT these Hives! šŸ

We used our Wagner SprayTech | USA sprayer and Valspar for Primer and Paint coats, and this combo has turned out to be a great DIY setup to get these EPS hives painted quickly.

In total, I had to paint 11 hives PLUS 3x Supers for EACH hive, so this has proven to be the best method.

Finally installed a new spigot on the front porch so we can get our foundation soaker hoses setup. The drought this year was brutal, so this was much needed. SharkBite Plumbing Solutions T connector made this super quick and easy, plus the outdoor spigot is also by sharkbite. And my Kobalt Tools is a must have for quick clean cuts of the pex lines, itā€™s worth grabbing one if you do any repairs.

We added this in particular splitter because itā€™s giving me 3 additional connection points for new hoses, so Iā€™ll have 2 left to use for the front garden.

The best part is that I didnā€™t have to bypass the hose reel out on the front post, we still have that and can use both simultaneously. And also, my main shutoff is still there too so if itā€™s crazy cold, I can shut off all that from the inside.

My Diablo Tools snap-lock hole saw was my favorite tool to break out for this one, always a pleasure to use these.

How often do you use hole saw blades?

Or is it ā€œbitsā€? .. honestly Iā€™ve said it both ways so whatever, you get it.

But seriously the snap lock set Iā€™ve been using now for so long Iā€™m not sure how Iā€™d get by messing with a different set now. Just look how simple it is šŸ¤Æ

Let me know if youā€™ve tried these before? And if you havenā€™t try them out! Yes I work with Diablo, and they send me out blades but I donā€™t share stuff thatā€™s junk, and I stand by my reviews.. these are just badass āœŠ

My full how-to video is over on my YouTube channel, but hereā€™s a shorter version so you can see an overview of the full process. Overall, you definitely need some construction or DIY experience but itā€™s absolutely doable with at least one helper.

I recommended getting an electrician and plumber involved for anything youā€™re unsure of for those trades, and also if you need to abide by any city codes of course. For the bulk of this build, itā€™s just a matter of following instructions, and some elbow grease, youā€™ve got this! šŸ’Ŗ

Good Blades are a Good Start

Back in the day, I didnā€™t really concern myself with what blades I was running in my saws. If it cut the wood, then fine by me. Usually, carpentry was my jam, I wasnā€™t building cabinets or Millwork, so I didnā€™t think I ā€œneededā€ to invest in good blades.

Well, the thing is, I didnā€™t realize how often I was buying blades. Not until about 7 years ago when I started using Freud Tools USA blades in my miter and table saws. The premier fusion general purpose blades are perfect for me. I can get precision cuts for simple carpentry or DIY projects, and then without having to swap my blade I can jump to a desk build or fabricating new cabinet doors or some other ā€˜finerā€™ finish project.
