The widespread use of contaminated sewage sludge on agricultural land is poisoning people, cattle, water, soil, and our food supply with highly toxic carcinogenic PFAS chemicals. It's time for us to stand together and demand change. The EPA has an open comment period for the draft risk assessments, and we need your voice. Let's urge the EPA to continue with the draft risk assessment and implement stronger protections. Our goal is to receive 5,000 comments. 💥RESOLUTION PASSED💥

Today 8/20/2024 The Henderson County Commissioner's Court voted on a resolution to join in the call for Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to cease issuing all permits for the spread of biosolids in Henderson County Texas and throughout the State of Texas. Thank you to Wendy Kinabrew Spivey and Scott Tuley for bringing this forward! This resolution is our first step in getting this banned. This united front shows that Henderson County Texas is against the use of Biosolids on our Agricultural lands. This doesn't officially ban them, but it's the first step in this journey. Great news Sludge Haters Team!!

The Henderson County Commissioner's Court will meet tomorrow morning at 9:00am in the Commissioner's Courtroom at the Henderson County Annex Building. During this meeting, commissioners will consider a proposed resolution to join in the call for TCEQ to cease issuing all permits for the spread of biosolids in Henderson county and throughout the state of Texas until the TCEQ and EPA have researched the long-term effects and issued final regulations and testing for this practice. The resolution further calls on any wastewater treatment plant provider and or waste hauler in Henderson County to temporarily suspend the application of biosolids in Henderson County. If you are available, please join us to show support for these commissioners for doing what's right to protect our farmland, our animals, and most importantly our families!!

“We are being paid by the generators of the residuals to haul it away and spread it, but we’re not paying, and he’s not paying us to receive it, and we’re not paying him,” said Gabe Timby, Denali Water Solutions."

"The Van Zandt County landowner wasn’t at the public meeting in Canton. WFAA reached out to him for comment, and he said because of the backlash, he plans to withdraw the biosolids permit."

We will share as soon as we see that the permit is withdrawn.
