The EURO and other models as well are showing a high % that something is going to try to develop around this area within the next 7 days.

I expect the NHC to ass a new circle to their map very soon.

Long term… will it turn north out to sea, or continue west? Too soon to call right now.

Thursday evening 8/7 — Let’s step forward about a week and take a look at what the models are showing.

Nothing currently on the NHC map will be a Gulf Coast threat, but I think the NHC will add a new circle soon to their map.

It’s for a wave that is emerging off of Africa now.

All of these models are showing a low pressure area approaching the Lesser Antilles by the end of next week. The 8/15 - 8/17 time frame. I don’t want to go out any further, because frankly models aren’t good enough for that to matter.

So, bottom line, nothing concerning now, but I think we will be tracking a new area as we head into next week. Way too soon to speculate if it will make it to the Gulf or not.
