The silence was deafening until the words hit me: 'My mom is dead.' A full-blown breakdown followed. Rushing to the phone at 9:30, I called my brother, desperate for answers. His question, 'How do you know?' confirmed the unthinkable.

⚠️ Listener Discretion Advised: This episode contains strong language and discussions involving addiction, incarceration, kidnapping, trauma, and other mature subject matter.

In this powerful and deeply personal episode of Y’all Be Good, Heather and Ralf sit down with a guest who has chosen to remain anonymous to protect her privacy. Her story is one that feels straight out of a true crime documentary.

From addiction and criminal activity to kidnapping, prison, and the consequences of choices that spiraled out of control, she shares the raw truth about some of the darkest moments of her life. But this conversation isn’t just about the mistakes she made—it’s about what happened next.

This is a story of survival, accountability, redemption, and finding hope when everything seems lost. Through incredible honesty and vulnerability, our guest opens up about rebuilding her life and proving that a person’s past doesn’t have to define their future.

It’s a difficult story at times, but it’s also an inspiring reminder that second chances are real.

These are heavy days in our country.
As the son of immigrants, my heart aches watching fear, injustice, and division affect people who look like me, people I love, and people in our community. At the same time, I believe deeply that law enforcement, when done with integrity and accountability, can be a force for good. Holding both of those truths at once isn’t easy.

At Little Lion Cuts, our work is rooted in joy, safety, and self-worth—especially for children. And honestly, that’s what makes this moment so hard. How do you keep creating a space of love and happiness when the world outside feels so loud and painful?

We don’t want to pretend nothing is happening. Silence can feel like dismissal.
But we also feel a responsibility to protect little hearts, little ears, and little eyes from the weight of grown-up fear and hate.

So here’s where we stand:
We choose to be on the side of light.
We choose compassion over cruelty.
We choose dignity for every family who walks through our doors.

Inside our shop, kids get to be kids. Parents get a moment to breathe. Everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and valued—no matter where they come from.

We’re holding space for love, even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard. 🦁✨
