Back from a whirlwind weekend of fishing The Big Red Classic! After some fantastic pre fishing by home and on Wednesday in holland we had a great game plan worked out! Thursday Tulip city triport we were greeted with large waves and tough fishing losing some big 4 yr old fish in the morning and finished middle of the pack. Friday women’s tournament we had 30+ bites losing more than half and just not the caliber of fish we needed unfortunately. The lake flip from the day before scattered the fish like the wash. We went into Saturday with a complete different game plan, trout fishing! We got a tip from a friend and Captain back in GH! We boated our 15 fish limit very quickly Saturday too quickly as it sounded like the big king bite happened while we were back at the dock. We had 100lbs on our 10 fish and were sitting in 10th place after day 1, but still within striking distance. Day 2 we went right back to our game plan and got our trout early and ended up with a couple mature kings as well! Our day 2 box was 120lbs and we were sitting in second before the top 5 weighed! We ended up sliding down to 4th after that but still ended with some cash for day 2 big box! Congrats to Josh with The Outdoorsmen Charters on his win! Thanks to Capt.
