Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky spoke to Rolling Stone about their wedding plans and how their love story started.

The couple may not wait for her Mayhem Tour to end before they get married, with Polansky discussing what dates they find most “tempting.”

They also detailed how excited they are to start a family.

Lady Gaga is on her Mayhem Tour through mid-April 2026, but the singer may just fit in a wedding, too. The star and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, spoke with Rolling Stone about their plans. Polansky explained, “We’re talking about it all the time. We have these [tour] breaks, and they’re tempting. It’s like, ‘OK, can we get married that weekend?’ We don’t want a really big wedding, but we want to enjoy it. In a lot of ways, we already feel married, so it’s not like it’s gonna change much.”

They are just as eager to start a family. “Being a mom is the thing I want the most,” Gaga said. “And he’s gonna be a beautiful father. We’re really excited about that.”

They aren’t concerned about raising children in the spotlight, with Polansky citing the singer’s godchildren, Elton John and David Furnish’s sons Zachary and Elijah, as positive examples of children growing up with famous parents. “Their kids have turned out to be very happy,” he said. “The most important thing is making it feel like this is just our family, this is what we do. Her being Lady Gaga and the art and all of it is not something that she has to compartmentalize away from her relationship with me or when she’s a mother.”

Polansky spoke about how he met Gaga in 2019, noting how surprised he was that her mother wanted to match him with the star. “When her mom first started telling me she wanted to set me up with her daughter, I thought she had to have been joking, because nobody in my life would’ve thought of me as somebody who wanted to get attention,” he said. The dilemma, as he put it, was “how could somebody who is so shy and wants so much privacy love someone that would cause his life to become the exact opposite of everything he thought he wanted?”

Gaga told her side of the story, saying, “My mom thought we would be a good match or that at least I would be enamored with him. [She told me], ‘Stefani, he’s a very serious guy.’”

She choked up before continuing. “It’s so special to look back on that, because so many people in my life at that time were looking for a good time. People really loved Drunk Lady Gaga. [But] none of my tricks were gonna work on him. We were gonna meet each other and probably have a very sincere adult conversation and see if we liked each other. Michael’s sense of gravity might be the thing that I was attracted to about him the most. He immediately understood how serious things were for me.”

The COVID-19 lockdown allowed Polansky to get to know Stefani, the person behind the pop star. “The piece that I always noticed was how disempowered she felt,” he said. “Not in charge of her own life. I’d never met somebody so incredibly talented and gifted feel so disempowered.”

Gaga added, “What he saw was, this is somebody that feels very far away from what they’re supposed to be doing. He wanted to take care of me. And I’ve never been loved that way. My life was serious to him. It was not a party. He helped me see that my life was precious.”

Darrell Hammond reflects on Alec Baldwin taking over as Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live.

The comedian admits to EW he "didn't like" the transition at the time.

"I know Lorne Michaels is a tough guy, but he's not cruel," he says.

Nearly a decade after Saturday Night Live elected Alec Baldwin as his replacement to play Donald Trump on the NBC sketch show in 2016, Darrell Hammond admits he wasn't particularly fond of the shakeup.

The comedy staple tells Entertainment Weekly that, at the time, he accepted creator and longtime SNL executive producer Lorne Michaels's "creative business decision" to end his run as Trump on the air, which he'd fronted between 1999 and 2011, in addition to playing Trump throughout various early stages of the 2015-2016 presidential election cycle.

"I know Lorne Michaels is a tough guy, but he's not cruel. I don't think he would've done that unless he felt like he had to," Hammond explains. "At the time, social media was emerging, YouTube was happening, there was a need to go viral every week. He made that creative decision, and it paid off."

Still, Hammond maintains, "No, I didn't like it, but it's the NFL, man. Saturday Night Live, for all its frivolity and hilarity, it's not the March of Dimes, it's a business."

"That was tough," he continues, "but every effort was made to explain things to me that it wasn't done haphazardly or cruelly.

In fact, Hammond remains a fixture on the program. After exiting as a full-time cast member in 2009, he was hired back as the show's announcer in 2014 following the death of longtime announcer Don Pardo, a post he still holds today.

Yet, Hammond says, while he "spoke briefly recently" with show personnel about potentially playing an on-camera role this season, "no one has talked to me about playing a part on the show" in the near future.

The 70-year-old, who also portrayed political figures like Al Gore and the late Dick Cheney on SNL, also responds in his EW interview to a 2018 social media message from Trump in which the president called for Hammond to be reinstated as his resident impersonator on the show because he's a "funnier" and "far greater talent" than Baldwin.

Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his terrible impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony. Alec, it was agony for those who were forced to watch. Bring back Darrell Hammond, funnier and a far greater talent!

— Donald J. Trump () March 2, 2018

"I think if a president tweets about you and suddenly Vladimir Putin knows your name, you've stepped into history somewhere. My mouth was on the floor. I couldn't believe it," Hammond says, before joking, "The first thing I thought was, now the Kremlin is going, 'Who is this guy?' Looking me up. That's a long way from the Little League fields I grew up on. I graduated college with a 2.1 and there were five presidents calling me by my first name [while I was on SNL], I feel like I did pretty good."

Hammond also tells EW that Cheney liked his impersonations so much that he once invited the entertainer to perform at a Republican retreat as Bill Clinton. "The guy had a sense of humor," he insists of Cheney, who died on Nov. 3 at age 84.

"I still remember his hand pounding on the table when I said this joke as Bill Clinton. I haven't done Clinton in a while, but the joke was, 'Boy, that Dick Cheney, with his heart condition and that electronic pacemaker? Every time he sneezes, the garage door opens,'" Hammond recalls. "I remember him pounding on the table, and I thought, Wow, he's generous with his time."

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for SNL for comment.

Morgan Freeman recently told The Guardian that he is pi**ed off when it comes to AI recreating his iconic voice without his consent. The Oscar winner said his “lawyers have been very, very busy” as of late working to remove all unauthorized uses of his voice off the internet.

“I’m a little PO’d, you know,” Freeman said. “I’m like any other actor: don’t mimic me with falseness. I don’t appreciate it and I get paid for doing stuff like that, so if you’re gonna do it without me, you’re robbing me.”

Morgan Freeman Slams AI Voice Imitations of Himself, Thanks Fans for Calling Out the 'Scam'

Freeman previously hit out against AI in June 2024, thanks his fans on X for calling out examples of AI ripping off Freeman’s voice for advertisements the actor has not signed off on to promote. He wrote at the time: “Thank you to my incredible fans for your vigilance and support in calling out the unauthorized use of an A.I. voice imitating me. Your dedication helps authenticity and integrity remain paramount. Grateful. ”

The actor joins a long list of fellow industry professionals who have spoken out against AI using their likeness without consent. Scarlet Johansson has been on the forefront of the anti-AI battle, criticizing OpenAI last year for using a voice similar to hers after she turned down the company’s request to use her direct speaking voice. Johansson said she was “shocked” and “angered” by OpenAI’s decision. Other celebrities, however, have been leaning in to AI. Matthew McConaughey and Michael Caine recently inked a deal with AI audio company ElevenLabs to produce virtual replications of their famous voices.

As for Morgan, he’s been making the press rounds in support of his role in “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.” The actor has appeared in all three “Now You See Me” movies. The latest installment is Freeman’s sole release of 2025, which is unusual for the actor. Even at 88 years old, Freeman has been averaging three film releases a year over the last several years.

“Sometimes the idea of retirement would float past me but, as soon as my agent says there’s a job or somebody wants you or they’ve made an offer, the whole thing just boils back into where it was yesterday: how much you’re going to pay, where we’re gonna be?” Freeman told The Guardian.

“The appetite is still there. I will concede that it’s dimmed a little. But not enough to make a serious difference,” he concluded.

Selena Quintanilla is celebrated in the upcoming Netflix documentary Selena y Los Dinos: A Family’s Legacy, which features archival footage and interviews with her loved ones. From her early beginnings as a young girl realizing her gift for singing to her unprecedented success as a woman dominating Tejano music, the documentary, directed by filmmaker Isabel Castro, proudly shines a spotlight on Quintanilla’s legacy.

The film, which had its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, is in many respects a love letter from the Quintanilla family to the singer’s newer generations of fans.

“Our family has recognized that Selena is a huge representation of who we are as Mexican Americans. She’s relevant still, 30 years after her passing,” Quintanilla’s older sister, Suzette, told the American Film Institute during a screening of the documentary. “There is a whole new, two generations actually … that are embracing her, discovering her and looking for her.”

When does Selena y Los Dinos: A Family’s Legacy premiere on Netflix?

Selena y Los Dinos: A Family’s Legacy premieres on Netflix on Nov. 17.

What is Selena y Los Dinos: A Family’s Legacy about?

Selena y Los Dinos: A Family’s Legacy charts Quintanilla’s early beginnings and rise to superstardom, as told by her family — her parents, Marcella and Abraham, sister, Suzette, brother, A.B. III, husband, Chris Pérez, and bandmates. Through the use of archival footage, the film tracks the family’s origins, from performances at their Tex-Mex restaurant in Lake Jackson, Texas, to their rise to the top of the Tejano music charts.

“As a filmmaker, I wanted to honor her extraordinary rise and enduring legacy while also giving a window into her life behind the stage,” Castro told Tudum. “Through personal archive and intimate interviews with her family, the film reveals new dimensions of her journey that have never been seen before. I am deeply grateful to her family for their trust and support throughout this journey, and I can’t wait for a global audience to experience the magic, heart and community that Selena gave to all of us.”

Who was Selena Quintanilla?

Quintanilla was born on April 16, 1971, in Lake Jackson, Texas, to parents Abraham and Marcella. She had two older siblings: her sister, Suzette, and brother, A.B. III. Abraham first learned that Quintanilla could carry a tune when she was 6 years old, Suzette told People. It wasn’t long before all the pieces fell into place, and the Quintanillas formed the family band, Selena y Los Dinos, in 1981. Suzette was on the drums, A.B. III was on the bass, and Quintanilla was the lead vocalist.

Selena y Los Dinos (Netflix) (Netflix)

Following years of success with Los Dinos, Quintanilla signed a solo contract with EMI Latin in 1989, the same year she released her self-titled debut album, Selena. In the years that followed, Quintanilla’s star continued to rise: She released three more albums, Ven Conmigo (1990), Entre a Mi Mundo (1992) and Amor Prohibido (1994), the latter of which included one of her biggest hits, “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom,” and earned her her first-ever Grammy Award in 1994 for Best Mexican/American Album. Her final album, Dreaming of You, which was also her first English-language LP, was released posthumously in 1995.

Recognized for catapulting the Tejano genre into the mainstream, Quintanilla, who is affectionately known as the “Queen of Tejano music,” is considered one of the most influential Latin artists of all time. Tejano music reached its commercial peak in popularity in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, largely thanks to Quintanilla.

What happened to Selena Quintanilla?

Quintanilla’s life came to a tragic end on March 31, 1995, when she was shot and killed by Yolanda Saldívar, her employee. She was just 23 years old.

Saldívar was the founder and president of Quintanilla’s fan club, before being promoted to manager of the singer’s clothing boutiques, Selena Etc. She was fired, however, in early 1995, after the Quintanillas discovered that she had been embezzling money from both the fan club and boutiques.

A fan holding a Selena poster (Netflix) (Netflix)

On the day of her death, Quintanilla met Saldívar at the Days Inn motel in Corpus Christi, Texas, to retrieve financial documents that she’d previously refused to turn over. Saldívar then shot Quintanilla, who fled to the lobby and collapsed. Quintanilla named Saldívar as her attacker before losing consciousness.

Saldívar was found guilty of first-degree murder in October 1995 and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 30 years. She was denied parole in March 2025.

What has her family said about the documentary?

Suzette, who is also an executive producer of Selena y Los Dinos: A Family’s Legacy, told People that the documentary is dedicated to the dreamers.

“She found humor in everything, even when things were overwhelming,” Suzette said of her sister. “She never took herself too seriously, and you could feel the realness of who she was. I hope her story reminds someone that you can dream. This started off as a wild dream — and look what it represents now, so many years later.”

Selena Quintanilla and Chris Pérez. (Netflix) (Netflix)

When Suzette approached Perez, the lead guitarist of Los Dinos, to be part of the project, he was immediately on board. Pérez, then 22, and Quintanilla, then 21, fell in love and married in 1992.

“Suzette calls me, I answer,” Pérez told the American Film Institute. “It was a simple choice for me. But at the same time, having to go through all the stuff again, it’s really heavy. But there’s so much beauty in it.”

Colorado athletic director Rick George said on the day that he announced the hiring of Deion Sanders that Sanders would be the last football coach he hired for the Buffaloes.

George, 65, had already hired two football coaches that didn’t work out before Sanders. Now George is stepping down as athletic director next year to take a new position at the university as emeritus athletic director and special adviser to the university chancellor.

“It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve as athletic director for the University of Colorado for the last 13 years, but after considerable thought and discussions with my family dating back to last spring, I have decided it is time for new leadership to guide the department,” George said in a statement Thursday Nov. 13.

The announcement said he was stepping down as athletic director at the end of the current academic year, which runs through June 2026.

His tenure in charge of Colorado athletics still will be defined by his hiring of Sanders, who revived a football program that had hit rock-bottom under George’s watch. But Sanders’ team since has struggled after going 9-4 last season. The Buffs are 3-7 this year in Sanders’ third season in Boulder.

Geroge introduced Sanders as the school’s new head coach on Dec. 4, 2022, installing him to resuscitate a football program that went 1-11 in 2022. George previously hired Mel Tucker, who left after one football season in 2019 to become coach at Michigan State. To replace Tucker, George hired Karl Dorrell, who went 8-15 in three seasons. before his firing in 2022.

On the day Sanders was introduced as Colorado's next head coach, George was asked if he was confident he wouldn’t need to hire another coach in another few years, in case Sanders left or didn't pan out.

“I won’t be here that long from the standpoint of I’m going to be here as long as Coach Prime is here,” George said that day. “He’s got a five-year deal, and so I’ll be here that long at least, Beyond that, I’m not gonna hire another coach, and I don’t think we’ll have to.”

He said in a statement Thursday he made this announcement now to give the university time to find his successor.

“I also wanted to time my announcement so that I could support Coach Prime and our football team this season, which I’m looking forward to continuing in my new role,” the statement said.

George was hired at Colorado in 2013, taking over for previous athletic director Mike Bohn. His current contract was set to expire in June 2027 after starting at annual pay rate of $1.1 million.

This move ends his tenure as athletic director one year earlier than his contract term, but it includes a provision that he can transition to another position before then upon mutual agreement with the university.

One of his biggest accomplishments was spearheading the building of the UCHealth Champions Center, a showcase facility for Colorado athletics. The university described it as the product of “the most successful fundraising campaign in department history,” which generated $100 million for the project.

In 2023, he helped make the decision to rejoin the Big 12 Conference amid uncertainty about the future of the Pac-12, which Colorado had joined in 2011. The Buffs finished with a 27-76 record in 12 seasons in the Pac-12 but started its return to the Big 12 in a first-place tie to finish the regular season.

Financial issues still pressured Colorado athletics, as they do for many universities in the new era of college sports. George’s department has had to rely on significant university support in recent years to help fund it. In September, the university said it was “TBD,” or to be determined, when asked how it would pay for rising expenses during the current fiscal year, including the new five-year contract the school gave Sanders in March worth more than $10 million annually.

The news release of George’s change in positions said he will “continue to assist CU athletics in his new role, participating in revenue-generating initiatives for the department during a time when revenue generation is vital for success.”
