For the eponymously named “Tiffany Haddish Goes Off,” the “Girls Trip” the actress is not packing light.

In the six-episode docuseries now streaming in its entirety on Peacock, Tiffany Haddish and three childhood friends enjoy a month-long trip to Africa. Visiting places like Cape Town, Victoria Falls and Zanzibar, they brave adventurous excursions, like ziplining and bungee jumping, and attempt even more daunting tasks: inner work. Haddish, 45, speaks candidly about the challenges of the last few years, including the end of her relationship with Common in 2021, the loss of her grandmother in 2022, a pair of arrests on suspicion of DUI in 2022 and 2023, her fear of abandonment, eight miscarriages, and the intense scrutiny she faces as a celebrity in the spotlight. Haddish confides that she’s "always vulnerable."

“Does the world think so? Probably not,” Haddish tells USA TODAY. “They have no idea I'm on the verge of tears on a regular basis, because I'm just a big baby, and that's the first form of communication. But I use my jokes or the true joy I feel for even being alive to mask those feelings sometimes.”

Eddie Murphy changed Tiffany Haddish's life. Why she says 'God sent me' to his lavish home

After 'self-marriage' ceremony: ‘I see somebody who is whole’

Throughout the docuseries, Haddish brings up the idea of marrying herself, a notion she first thought of in 2018, when she was seeing a man she describes as a “buckethead.” He asked her, “’How are you ever going to get you a husband if you don’t do what I tell you to do?’” Haddish recalls in the docuseries. “And I was like, ‘I’ll be my husband. I could take care of me better than you could.’”

“I started realizing all these things I want from somebody else, I need to be giving to me,” Haddish tells USA TODAY. “And if I'm able to do that, when that person shows up, it’s going to be so easy for us to come together.”

During the self-marriage ceremony in Episode 5, Haddish vows to celebrate her triumphs, persevere, and refuse to settle for less, as she’s often done. She marks her commitment by kissing a mirror and stepping on a glass, a well-known custom in Judaism. Haddish, who is of Jewish ancestry, had a bat mitzvah at 40.

Though her wedding may strike many as unconventional, Haddish feels its significance deeply.

In "Tiffany Haddish Goes Off," the comedian travels to Africa with three childhood friends. From left Selena Martin, Shermona Long and Sparkle Clark.

“I used to not show up for myself, do everything for everybody else and not take care of me,” Haddish says. “And ever since I got married to me, baby, them boundaries − I see a difference in the way I wake up in the morning, and how I look in the mirror. When I look at myself, I see somebody who is whole, still fragile, but well taken care of."

She's still open to find love, but she's set high standards, she explains: "Everything that I'm doing for me − if a man can do that better than me, that's my man!”

Haddish was photographed on Halloween with actor Toby Sandeman, after going public with her crush on the “Running Point” star. But Haddish says they are just friends.

Heartbreak while yearning to be a mom: ‘But I am actually happy with where God has brought me’

One of the most moving moments of the series arrives when Haddish opens up about her numerous miscarriages during a reading with a medium. Haddish says that, due to endometriosis, she’s lost eight children, and asks during one exercise if she’s supposed to have babies. “I think all my babies that I lost, I think they were all boys,” Haddish says in the docuseries. “I think men, they come in my life, give me hope, (sometimes) a little bit of joy, and then they go away.”

When asked about plans for motherhood today, Haddish tells USA TODAY that she’s open to “whatever God has in store...I feel like I've already raised a lot of kids,” Haddish says, adding, “I've worked with thousands of children (in) the foster care system, (those) struggling at the youth center where I worked doing the bat and bar mitzvahs (as an entertainer). I raised my brothers and sisters. I was married to a man (William Stewart from 2008-2013) that had kids, and those kids still keep in contact with me.”

Tiffany Haddish attempts to resolve some of her emotional challenges in "Tiffany Haddish Goes Off."

“At this point, I'm really satisfied with where I am,” Haddish continues. “It's crazy to say it out loud sometimes, but I am actually happy with where God has brought me. The journey that I've been on has made me really appreciate life, and really appreciate being a human.”

Apple's hosting the annual Peanuts Thanksgiving a little earlier this year.

In the decades since its TV debut in 1973, "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" has become a vehicle for families everywhere to get into the holiday spirit.

The nearly 30-minute special has aired almost every year on ABC and CBS, but things changed when Apple acquired the rights to Peanuts holiday specials in 2020.

The special also aired briefly on PBS in the years after Apple's acquisition. Now, "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" and all other Peanuts content will stream exclusively on Apple TV until 2030.

But Apple's streaming service continues to offer the public a chance to catch all of the Peanuts holiday specials for free during certain times of the year, and this upcoming weekend is one of them.

Between Peppermint Party inviting the Peanuts gang to Charlie Brown's house and Snoopy cooking up his own version of a Thanksgiving meal with Woodstock, the ragtag group of friends has quite a bit to sort out on Turkey Day, especially Charlie Brown, who was supposed to visit his grandmother.

Here's how to watch "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" for free this weekend.

Charlie Brown and friends will celebrate Thanksgiving on Apple TV+ this holiday season.

Apple TV is the "exclusive streaming home" for all things "Peanuts," including holiday specials through 2030.

The good news, however, for those who don't have an Apple TV subscription, is that the streaming and tech giant is offering "special streaming windows" on certain days.

This year, that means "Peanuts" fans will be able to catch the special for free for two days this weekend: Saturday, Nov. 15, and Sunday, Nov. 16. Apple TV+ subscribers, on the other hand, can watch the specials and all other "Peanuts" content, anytime, all year long.

How to watch 'A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving' for free

Non-Apple TV subscribers will be able to watch "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" special for free from Nov. 15-16, the streaming service announced in October. You only need an Apple ID to log in.

Netflix's Mrs Playmen follows Adelina Tattilo as she takes over the successful erotic magazine Playmen

The series, out Nov. 12, charts her wins and losses as the magazine faces scrutiny and grows its fanbase

Here is the real-life story of Playmen magazine

Netflix’s miniseries Mrs Playmen tells the true story of Italy’s most famous adult magazine, Playmen, and its trailblazing co-founder, Adelina Tattilo (Carolina Crescentini).

Tattilo kept a mostly private personal life, but was a fiercely determined businesswoman and, some would argue, activist.

As a mother of three in her 30s, Tattilo and her then-husband, Saro Balsamo, were inspired by America’s Pl***oy magazine to create their own Italian version, tailored more to European tastes. Both loved and hated, their magazine, Playmen, became a huge success, but it also faced immense backlash, with many saying the publication was indecent and went against the country’s Catholic values.

But others, like Tattilo herself, said that Playmen empowered women and was a tool for female liberation. “I hope Playmen will contribute to changing, in an intelligent way, certain archaic attitudes toward love and s*x among Italian men and women,” she told TIME in 1971.

The magazine had highs and lows, including scoring a large circulation, but it also faced lawsuits, run-ins with the law and even created a scandal involving n**e photos of Jackie Kennedy. The Netflix series, out Nov. 12, chronicles the issues of Playmen that Tattilo led herself after Balsamo abandoned her amid obscenity charges against the magazine.

But what is the true story behind Mrs Playmen? Here's everything to know about Adelina Tattilo and her time as the editor-in-chief of Playmen.

Who was Adelina Tattilo?

Beniamino Ziccardi/Netflix

Carolina Crescentini as Adelina Tattilo in episode 102 of Mrs Playmen.

Born in Manfredonia in 1928, Tattilo was almost 40 and a mother of three when she launched the successful erotic magazine Playmen in Italy. The publication was most notable for showing photos of n**e women, including famous faces like Brigitte Bardot and Amanda Lear.

But it also had articles on art, politics and culture. According to the Italian news agency adnkronos, Playmen even featured interviews with prominent figures like Fred Astaire and Allen Ginsberg.

“The magazine wasn't just erotica,” the publication stated, “it was a tool for cultural liberation. Adelina herself declared that her goal was to combat bigotry, challenge false moralisms, and affirm a libertarian, radical, and socialist culture.”

Playmen eventually began being sold all across Europe.

Why did Playmen have so much legal trouble?

Camilla Cattabriga/Netflix

Francesca Colucci as Elsa and Marco Rossetti as Steve in episode 107 of Mrs Playmen.

According to a TIME article from 1971, in under four years, Playmen had gained a circulation of 450,000. But, the magazine was technically illegal in Italy, going against Article 725 of the Italian penal code for "violation of the common sense of decency." But this didn’t stop Italians from buying the magazine, and in fact, may have only made it more popular.

“Each month there is a race between the readers and the cops,” TIME wrote. “Playmen rarely lasts more than 48 hours on the newsstands; in that time, it is either sold or seized.” The publication added, “The readers are usually quicker than the police.”

What was Playmen's infamous Jackie Kennedy scandal?

Pictorial Parade/Getty

Jacqueline Kennedy leaves the Alvin Theatre on May 15, 1970 New York City.

In 1972, an issue of Playmen published n**e photos of Jackie Kennedy that were taken without her knowledge or consent. The photos were shot while the former First Lady was sunbathing n**e on the private island of Skorpios in Greece.

Tattilo said in a 1972 interview with TIME that the photos were taken by a group of photographers on a boat, and that she paid “More than $34,000 and less than $51,000" for the images. The photos caused a media frenzy and scandal, with issues flying off the shelves and Playmen gaining global recognition.

Over the next few years, the images were republished in erotic magazines across the world, including in the United States. They were featured in the August 1975 edition of Hustler after the magazine’s owner, Larry Flynt, purchased them. The ordeal even made its way into the Oscar-nominated 1996 film The People vs. Larry Flynt.

However, Tattilo didn’t see herself as accountable or to blame for the scandal. “After all," she said to TIME, "Jackie knew that photographers have shot at that particular location more than once. If she didn't want to be photographed, she should not have exhibited herself.”

What happened between Tattilo and Pl***oy’s Hugh Hefner?

Camilla Cattabriga/Netflix

Filippo Nigro as Chartroux and Carolina Crescentini as Adelina Tattilo in episode 102 of Mrs Playmen.

After becoming a huge success in Europe, Tattilo began selling Playmen in the U.S. under the name Adelina with the tagline "America's edition of Italy's Playmen." Tattilo allegedly wanted to sell the magazine with a tie to Playmen to capitalize on the brand's already-established notoriety.

Her company, Chuckleberry Publications, was soon sued by Hugh Hefner's Pl***oy, per UPI.

The judge ruled in favor of Pl***oy and said that Adelina needed to edit its tagline and could never change its name to Playmen in the U.S.

Adelina lasted only a few years, but during its short time, it attracted some big names, including interviews with filmmakers like Mel Brooks, and even published essays by Stephen King.

What happened to Adelina Tattilo?

After the success of Playmen, Tattilo went on to form a publishing empire. She had a hand in publishing the books Dizionario della Letteratura Erotica (Dictionary of Erotic Literature), La Ma*****na Fa Bene (Ma*****na Does You Good) and Playdux: Storia Erotica del Fascismo.

Per the Italian edition of Elle, Tattilo also launched Libera, a feminist magazine designed to empower women that featured images of n**e men alongside coverage of fashion, politics and feminism.

Playmen published its final issue in 2001, and Tattilo died at 78 in 2007 after what La Repubblica described as a “brief illness.”

In 1993’s Demolition Man, the Oscar nominee endured “the two most dangerous stunts I've ever done,” he said

One stunt involved a real metal vise, while another could have easily resulted in his drowning

Sylvester Stallone did more than his share of death-defying stunts in his action-star heyday.

The actor-filmmaker, 79, broke down his most iconic screen characters from Rocky to Rambo in a recent video interview with GQ. It was 1993’s Demolition Man, he said, that brought about “the two most dangerous stunts I've ever done.”

In the sci-fi action flick costarring Wesley Snipes and Sandra Bullock and directed by Marco Brambilla, Stallone played the cryogenically frozen John Spartan, released in the distant future to wreak all kinds of havoc.

“It was what we call a practical set,” Stallone explained. A scene involving his character caught in a “giant claw” while fighting Snipes’ Simon Phoenix was liable to cause real injury.

“Those things really worked,” he said of the clamps. “The hydraulics would go sideways, and the strength of those metal claws would tear you up.”

The other stunt the Rocky star couldn’t forget involved a “round tub, thick plexiglass — you couldn't break it with a sledgehammer,” he said. As the container John Spartan is trapped in was filled up with “warm oil,” he explained, there was danger of drowning if the amount reached past his nose.

“And you can't get out because the lid was bolted on,” continued Stallone. “I had a couple of fellas that were sitting there with sledgehammers and hatchets.” After the scene concluded, he recalled telling them, “‘Why don't you try to open it?' Of course, they hit it 20 times and couldn't crack it.”

He concluded, “So that was crazy.”

Stallone is no stranger to cheating death for the sake of cinematic greatness. In 1985’s Rocky IV, he faced off against Dolph Lundgren, later claiming his costar had almost killed him with a punch.

“He hit me so hard he almost stopped my heart,” Stallone said in 2019. “Next thing I know, I’m on a low-altitude plane to the emergency room, and I’m in intensive care for four days. And there are all these nuns around.”

Stallone leads Paramount+ drama Tulsa King, now streaming its third season. A biopic centered on the actor-writer making 1976’s Rocky, called I Play Rocky, is also in the works.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Braden Smith scored 29 points, including 21 in the second half, and No. 2 Purdue beat eighth-ranked Alabama 87-80 on Thursday night in the first matchup of top-10 teams this season.

Trey Kaufman-Renn added 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Boilermakers (3-0), who notched the program’s first road win against a top-10, non-conference opponent since winning at Louisville in 1982.

Purdue dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Crimson Tide 52-28. Alabama (2-1) kept it close by hitting 16 of 44 from 3-point range.

Aden Holloway led the Tide with 21 points. Taylor Bol Bowen added 13.

Houston Mallette’s 3-pointer tied the game at 80 with 1:42 remaining, but Smith took over from there. He drove for a layup on the other end and then hit two free throws with 47 seconds left to give the Boilermakers some breathing room.

The game featured 21 lead changes. Kaufman-Renn, Purdue’s leading scorer from last season, missed the first two games to injury and made his debut in Tuscaloosa. He had 17 points and eight rebounds in the first half.

NO. 17 MICHIGAN STATE 79, SAN JOSE STATE 60

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Jaxon Kohler had 17 points and a career-high 18 rebounds, Jeremy Fears scored a career-high 15 points and had nine assists, and Michigan State beat San Jose State.

Michigan State (3-0) led by 23 points at halftime with Carson Cooper scoring 12 of his 17 points. The home team had a lackluster start of the second half and struggled to shoot before pulling away late in the game after Fears made a pair of 3-pointers and set Coen Carr up for an alley-oop dunk.

San Jose State (0-3) scored the first eight points of the second half and later pulled within 10 points, but couldn’t get closer.

Garland Colby scored 14 of his 22 points in the first half, shooting 6 for 10 while the rest of San Jose State’s team was 3 of 20 from the field. Moundi Yaphet had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the visitors.

Michigan State’s Kur Teng scored all of his 10 points in the first half, when he made 2 of 4 3-pointers and his teammates were 0 of 6 beyond the arc. Tom Izzo’s team finished 6 for 25 on 3-pointers, a game after missing 13 of 14 3-pointers in a win over then-No. 14 Arkansas.

Carr had eight points, five assists and provided a boost for his team and the fans with a series of dunks.

LAKE PLACID, NY — With the Winter Olympic season in full swing, the figure skating world turns its attention to the United States, where some potential medalists will compete in 2025 Skate America.

One of the six stops on the International Skating Union Grand Prix, the annual competition takes place in Lake Placid, New York, home of the 1980 Winter Olympics and the famed “Miracle on Ice.” That iconic moment in U.S. history took place in the same arena, and there are stars that could forge their own legacy this season, with world champions and past Skate America champions taking the ice.

No spots for Milan-Cortina will be clinched during Skate America, but it can build momentum as skaters look to make the Grand Prix finals in December, with less than two months before the Olympics begin.

Here’s what to know for 2025 Skate America:

Who is competing in 2025 Skate America?

Several international stars will be in Lake Placid, including some U.S. skaters who could compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics.

All eyes will be on Alysa Liu, the 20-year-old sensation who has roared back since returning to the sport after a two-year retirement.

The 2022 Olympian dazzled in March when she won the world championship and is coming off a second-place finish at the Cup of China, and she is expected to return to the Winter Games. Other U.S. skaters include Starr Andrews and Josephine Lee. Also competing is Rinka Watanabe of Japan, who finished third at the Cup of China.

In the men’s, veteran Jason Brown is back for his first Skate America since 2019. A fan favorite, Brown is eyeing his third Olympic appearance in 2026, and he’s brought back his viral riverdance into his program as the men’s field is up in the air.

Then there’s the ice dancing duo of Madison Chock and Evan Bates. Now married, the three-time reigning world champions are coming off a first place finish at Cup of China and have signaled they are reaching the end of their competitive careers, hopeful to make it to their fourth Olympics.
