Some of the beautiful wood carvings by The Tree City Carvers that were on display today at "Art In The Park" located at Fred Fuller Park. Sunday the hours will be 11:00-5:00. Fred Fuller Park is located on Middlebury Rd in Kent, OH. Thank you Vickie Yendriga for taking the great photos.

Congratulations to Bill Hemlick who won the honors of being our Show and Tell moderator at this past weeks membership meeting.
Our next Carve-In will be this coming Wednesday August 27 at 6:00. All carvers and wannabe carvers are welcome to attend. Location will be Roy Smith Shelter in Fred Fuller Park 497 Middlebury Rd Kent, OH.

Congratulations to Del Proudfoot and Rich Bowles on their winning wood burning and carving entries at the Randolph Fair. Thanks to Del Proudfoot, Bob Brubaker, Tim Crawford, Jan and Earl who were our carvers for the first four days of the fair.

Luke and Theresa Costilow, Decoy carvers, were our special speakers at our TCC monthly meeting last night. They presented a very interesting and informative program on how they carve, sell and promote their Decoys. Bob Stadtlander won the priviledge, at our membership meeting this week, to presesnt the Show and Tell portion of the get together.

Last night during our membership meeting we had the privilege of hearing Charlie Price speak to the group. Charlie is a fairly new self taught carver from Hudson. Most of his basswood creations are whimsical and miniature in size. They were small so his wife got him a few shadowboxes to display them in. This was done to create an area to display his carvings away from his cat who enjoyed knocking his earlier carvings off the counters and onto the floor where his dog would chew them up. Thank you Charlie for a very entertaining program.

John Linnen, TCC member, did a great job at the Charlotte carving show entering 7 pieces and winning a first place blue ribbon in the Intermediate division for his relief of The Christmas Barn. In addition, his son Mike entered 16 carvings in the Novice division and was honored with several Best of shows and First place blue ribbons. He also won many other ribbons of honor for each of his entries. Congratulations, John and Mike!
